    DUTIES: The incumbent will be responsible to Commissioner/Construction Standards and quality Management for performing the following duties:-

    - Developing and implementing the Quality Management System for all Engineering

    Services rendered by the Ministry in accordance with the requirements of the International Standards Organisation;

    - Liaising with the Uganda National Bureau of Standards and advise the Commissioner for construction standards and quality management on areas of quality management that need review;

    - Acting as a custodian of the Ministrys Engineering standards (specifications, tender documents, manuals and guidelines) for roads, bridges, buildings and aerodromes;

    - developing, review and update Engineering and quality standards for the Ministry; - setting minimum requirements in liaison with PDU for consultants and contractors to be

    engaged on engineering projects; - developing and reviewing the project implementation manuals, defining all processes

    and procedures to be followed to ensure compliance with the Ministrys Management Systems;

    - preparing annual budgets for the Division; - preparing monthly, quarterly, annual and any other incidental reports for the Division;

    Applicants should have at least nine (9) years relevant working experience three (3) of which should have been served at Principal level in government or equivalent experience in Road or Pipeline or Transport or Civil Aviation from a reputable organisation. DUTIES: The incumbent will be responsible to Commissioner/Transport Regulation for performing the following duties:-

    - Initiating and developing policies and strategies to promote safety in road and pipeline transport.

    - Monitoring inspection firms for road worthiness of vehicles in the country to ensure safety of road transport.

    - Overseeing licensing and monitor the operations of driving schools, driver testing centres, instructors and examiners;

    - Monitoring movement of heavy vehicles to ensure compliance with axle load regulations.

    - Coordinating investigation into road and pipeline transport accidents and advise on mitigation measures.

Applicants should have at least six (6) years relevant working experience in the relevant field, three (3) of which should have been served at senior Industrial Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organisation. DUTIES:

    The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner for performing the following duties:-

    - Participating in the formulation of regional, national and sub-sector industrial policies.

    - Coordinating the formulation of the Ministry Budget Framework Paper (BFP) and

    Ministerial Policy Statement.

    - Participating in planning of industrial technical guidance visits and surveys.

    - Liaising with Uganda Investment Authority and Uganda Manufacturers Association in

    the promotion of industrial related programs, strategies and activities such as

    development of industrial parks.

    - Handling issues related with World Intellectual property organisation (WIPO) and

    African Regional Intellectual Organisation (ARIPO).

    - Liaising with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development in the formulation,

    monitoring and review of policies and strategies concerning the Mineral Energy and Oil

    Sectors.

    - Any other duties as may be assigned from time
