And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.

He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me…

God’s Covenant with David“He shall build a house for my name”: this refers to Solomon, David’s son.

“I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me”: Solomon would be God’s anointed king who would represent God.

“Your house and your kingdom shall endure before me forever; your throne shall be established forever”: there will always be a descendent of David & Solomon who is the rightful king and thus God’s representative to the world.

Hebrews 5:5 ESV: “So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you.’”

Psalm 2 is about Jesus!

Put your hope in deliverance to salvation and resurrection to eternal life,

not in deliverance from worldly problems.
