DISCIPLESHIP“Discipling others is the process by which a Christian with a life worth

emulating commits himself or herself for an extended period of time to a

few individuals who have been won to Christ, the purpose being to aid and guide their growth to maturity and

equip them to reproduce themselves in a third spiritual generation."

The Need

27Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot

be my disciple.

Luke 14:25-35 (ESV)28For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit

down and count the cost, whether he has enough to

complete it? 29Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it

begin to mock him, 30saying, ‘This man began to build and

was not able to finish.’

encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and

loved Rachel more than Leah, and served Laban for another seven years. When the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb,

but Rachel was barren.

star than the Son of God

Christ says, 'Give me All. I don't want so much of your time and so much of your

money and so much of your work: I want You. I have not come to torment your

natural self, but to kill it. No half-measures are any good. I don't want to cut off a

branch here and a branch there, I want to have the whole tree down. I don't want to drill the tooth, or crown it, or stop it, but to have it out. Hand over the whole natural

self, all the desires which you think innocent as well as the ones you think

wicked - the whole outfit. I will give you a new self instead. In fact, I will you Myself:

my own will shall become yours.' – C.S. Lewis
