Proverbs 13 1 A wise son heareth his father's

instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

Some people just will not listen to Truth.They ignore it, resent it, resist it, and mock it.

They say, “I’m gonna do what I want to.”

They will never know the joy of right living.

2 A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence. 3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Our words matter; positive words need to be spoken.

Negative words need to be suppressed.

Matthew 12 (Jesus) 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Words matter.

Matthew 25 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.

Hurtful words should not be spoken.If we hurt a brother or sister, we hurt the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 10 12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;….

Gracious = kindness, favor, pleasant

Meanness comes out of the mouth of a fool. DVT

We label ourselves with our words.

Ephesians 4 31-32 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

God wants to take away all the bitterness in our hearts and minds; He wants to take out the anger, evil speaking (hurtful words), and

malice.But we have to let it go.

We have to choose to be kind and tenderhearted.

It is within us to be kind and tenderhearted.

God is within us.God produces these traits within us.

Don’t resist the Spirit of God.Yield to Him.
