Canned Food Drive

Turkey Give Away

This month was all about making sure everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. JROTC held a canned food drive and collected over three thousand

pounds of cans. They also participated in a turkey give

away, sponsored by Alderman Emma Mitts, to make sure every family in need had

something to eat on Thanksgiving.

New members to our Battalion Staff

Let’s welcome our new Battalion S-3, no one better

than C/CPT Estrada. He has proven his dedication

to our Battalion and to D&B, so he was chosen

for this position. Congratulations!

“I feel very proud that Major Shepphard appointed Ayala and I to be the Battalion Surgeons. It is a great

responsibility that we gladly take on. Preparing to become the battalion surgeons was an experience we

will never forget. We assisted a training at Rush Medical University. There, we were taught how to give CPR on a

hands-on training. We learned how to treat minor and severe bleeding and all there is about first aid by ER

doctors. Ayala and I are now certified in first-aid. Our job is to attend to all activities with cadets to provide first-aid in the case of any cadet needing of it. The well-being of

every cadet in the Battalion is our responsibility.”-C/SFC Quinonez

There were many schools who participated in this event, but they were no competition to our Color Guard, Freshman and

Senior Drill teams.

We are especially proud of the Freshman Drill Team .

It was their first time on the floor and they did an

amazing job.
