Customized innovation

Our professional sales staff and engineers, who have many years of experience in fire fighting and rescue operations, consult closely with our customers to provide competent advice. Our aim is to understand their needs, create opti-mal solutions no matter where in the world our customers are.

We apply professional 3D CAD and finite element methods (FEM) to design individual body elements. The complete extinguishing systems and controls are made by Rosenbauer and are perfectly matching the chassis and superstructure.

State of the art laser cutting and bending machines provide the utmost precision in aluminium body construction.

The sub-frame is the vital interface between chassis and superstructure. Whilst complying to latest chassis manufacturer’s bodybuilder-guidelines it provides a solid platform for the integration of a vibration free pump driveline; the flexible moun-ting of the modular superstructure eliminates torsion and undue stress-loads.


The high strength aluminium panels are joint by bending and bolting technique to form self-supporting modules of superior strength at low weights. Better driving stability and reliability result from the lower centre of gravity.

An industrially organized workflow guarantees best quality during all stages of production.

Extensive vehicle testing and final quality checks are carried out before delivery to ensure the reliable opera-tion and long life of every Rosenbauer vehicle.

Aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicles (Buffalo)

Airport fire brigades benefit from the innovative, practical solutions, which are perfectly integrated to deliver the highest performance on or off the runway.

In compliance with the performance requirements set forth by ICAO and by using the Customized Body System, Rosenbauer provides a highly flexible platform for const-ructing Rapid Intervention Vehicles (RIV) and major Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles on suitable commercial chassis. The CBS starts with a self supporting aluminium sheet metal construction mounted on a sub-frame of the highest industrial quality. Perfectly coordinated, top notch quality Rosenbauer components are added to meet the exact needs of each airport fire brigade.

Extinguishing systems comprise the centrifugal pump, the automatic foam admixing system, remote control roof and bumper turrets, quick attack hose reels, remote control of the complete fire fighting installation. The pump drive – either by special PTO or by separate engine – is designed to allow for simultaneous driving and extinguishing operation.

Powerful extinguishing systems Rosenbauer offers a full range of highly advanced extingu-ishing systems to ensure effective fire control and extingu-ishing of a variety of combustible materials.

▪ Additional extinguishing agents are dry chemical powder (up to a capacity of 3,000 kg) and CO2, making the units fit to fight all classes of fire. ▪ HRET (high reach extendable turrets) or foam towers for the discharge of high volume water/foam streams enhance fire fighting in elevated position and are another option to improve the universality of the fire truck.

Rosenbauer integrated system components are the result of years of experience in designing and producing fire fighting equipment. From the full line of Rosenbauer components, only some of the most frequently ordered are described in this overview. Rosenbauer develops, designs, manufactures, installs and tests all extinguishing systems and other system com-ponents in house, taking into account customer require-ments, the latest national standards and operator safety, ergonomics and comfort. This enables us to provide the

best integrated solution for any vehicle application, whe-ther for municipal, airport or industrial fire brigades. The perfect coordination of all components not only pro-vides for highly flexible vehicle solutions, but also for high performance. Rosenbauer pumps, foam systems, hose reels, bumper and roof turrets as well as other innovative components can be relied on time and time again to provi-de powerful capabilities exactly when needed – in critical emergency situations.


Built-in pumps R & N series normal pressure or N/H series combined nor-mal/high pressure built-in centrifugal pumps are offered with optional integrated Rosenbauer fully automatic around the pump foam proportioning systems. Normal pressure output ranges from 1,000 to 10,000 l/min at 10 bar. High pressure output is up to 400 l/min at 40 bar.

To enhance safety it is highly recom-mended to undergo driver’s training. All this can be arranged at special training centres in Austria or by dele-gating a skilled trainer to your site.
