Principal's Message

Dear Students/ Parents,

Hearty congratulations to all those who have cleared their first and second year examinations at the Prabhu Dhan Degree College (PDDC), Bhorugram and a warm welcome to all the new comers.

In July 2014, PDDC, Bhorugram has successfully entered into its third academic session, offering undergraduate courses in all the three streams of Arts, Commerce and Science (Medical and Non-Medical) through well qualified, trained and experienced faculty members. We, at PDDC give much emphasis on career counseling of those who have entered into the portal of higher education, making them realise of the gamut of opportunities linked to technical, academic, civil services etc. that shall soon be open after these three years for each of them. And thus we constantly work on motivating them to keep on consistently scoring more in each year, in order to achieve their goals with ease.

At PDDC we value every individual and it's our responsibility to provide the best possible environment to all our students especially the female candidates. To groom the institute further into center of great learning we expect unconditional commitment and dedication from each individual associated with us, including students from whom we expect to maintain a high level of decorum and discipline.

Being a parent, choosing a right college for your son/ daughter is never an easy task. It requires a lot of deep understanding of academic institutions and a comparative study of available options. We are thankful and appreciate the choice of those parents who have considered PDDC as the college for their children.

Prabhu Dhan Degree College is considered to be the fulfillment of Late Shri. P.D. Agarwal Ji's vision (founder of TCI Bhoruka Group and Bhoruka Charitable Trust) that aims to address the higher education needs of rural youths from his native place- Bhorugram.

Education is the light which not only illuminates the mind and soul of a human being but also the entire society and nation at large. Inspired by this idea the Trust established Bhoruram Jiram Das Public School (BRJD Public School) in 1976 at Bhorugram. Looking into the needs of higher education, Prabhu Dhan Degree College (PDDC) was inaugurated on 24th July 2012. Presently the college is a renowned multi faculty, co- education, bilingual institution nurturing value added education.

To keep the students abreast with latest developments in their opted subjects, effective career counselling sessions through PDDC's career guidance cell, additional coaching facilities for various competitions and remedial classes for the students from economically weaker sections of the society are also taken care of at PDDC. Additionally, experts from various renowned universities are also invited to deliver lectures on different subjects as well as on various relevant issues and to share their knowledge and experience with the enrolled students.

There also exists a fully functional “Woman Grievance Redressal Cell” that promptly helps the female students of Prabhu Dhan Degree College, whenever required. On health front, enrolled students are medically examined from time to time by the health team of Chogmal Bhoruka Hospital, Bhorugram.

Prabhu Dhan Degree College encourages a healthy relationship between parents and teachers. Out of regularly organized parent teacher meetings at PDDC, parents are expected to attend at least three meetings during an academic session.

The college maintains intake of excellent faculty, both academic and non- academic. Only qualified, trained, experienced & professionally sound educators and facilitators who seems well versed in teaching techniques are being appointed. Further, to enhance the personality of our faculty members, we get their skills brushed up by international experts and renowned educationists.

Optional “Book- Bank” facility is available in the library. In this scheme any student can take a set of text books of his/her class in either medium (English or Hindi) for each academic session. For this purpose he/she has to become a member of book bank by depositing the refundable membership fees of Rs. 2000/-. Membership fees will be refunded, only if, all the issued books are being returned back in good condition to the college at the time of leaving the college.

A Student who has passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination in science stream with at least 48% marks is eligible for admission on first come first served basis.

1. Compulsory Papers :-(A) Hindi & English language.(B) Environmental studies.(C) Elementary computer science.

2. Option Papers : Combination of Elective subjects(A) Non-Medical: - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.(B) Medical: - Botany, Zoology, Chemistry.

A student who has passed B.Sc. Part-I (First year) examination or whose papers are due from M.G.S. University Bikaner will be eligible for the admission in the same group or subjects as per opted by him or her in B.Sc. Part-I.

Prabhu Dhan Degree College's student who has passed B.Sc. Part-II (Second Year) examination or whose papers are due from M.G.S. University Bikaner will be eligible for the admission in the same group or subjects as per opted by him or her in B.Sc. Part-II.

A Student who has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks is eligible for admission on first come first served basis.

Prabhu Dhan Degree College's student who has passed B.A. Part-II (Second Year) examination or whose papers are due from M.G.S. University Bikaner will be eligible for the admission in the same group or subjects as per opted by him or her in B.A. Part-II.

Note :- Students from non- commerce stream will have to take an additional & compulsory subject either from Book Keeping or Business studies.

A student who has passed B. Com. Part-I (First Year) examination or whose papers are due from M.G.S. University, Bikaner will be eligible for admission in same group opted in B.Com. Part-I.

Prabhu Dhan Degree College's student who has passed B.Com. Part-II (Second Year) examination or whose papers are due from M.G.S. University Bikaner will be eligible for the admission in the same group or subjects as per opted by him or her in B.Com. Part-II.Note :- Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC/P.H. as per rules.Change of Subject in B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. Part-I, will be allowed only within 15 days after the start of the new session and deposition of prescribed fee during this period.

REJECTION OF ADMISSION

1. Self attested Photo copy of the Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination.

2. Original character certificate issued by the Principal of the institution last attended (only for new students).

3. Original Transfer Certificate issued by the Principal of the institution last attended (only for new student).

4. Three copies of recent pass port size color photographs.

5. Address proof (Ration Card/Aadhar card) etc.

1. Those candidates having a gap in studies for more than two years after passing the qualifying examinations will not be given admission. This does not apply for female candidates.

2. An academic session will not be considered as a gap year during which the candidate was a regular student of any educational institution and appeared in any university examination.

A regular student of previous session, who fails / does not appear in the Exam / does not fill the university application from, shall not be allowed readmission in the same class as a regular candidate. Readmission in class already passed will not be allowed for the improvement of marks.

1. The candidates appearing for supplementary examination or whose papers are due are eligible to take admission in the next class till the last date of admission. The admissions will not be granted afterwards even if they pass the supplementary examination.

2. The admission of the candidates who failed in the supplementary examination/due papers after taking admission shall automatically deemed cancel and fees deposited will not be refunded.

The Principal can reject the admission on the following grounds:

1. If the candidate has knowingly concealed any fact in the application form or has produced false information / document.

2. If the candidate has not deposited the application form till the last date of submission or has deposited incomplete form.

3. If the candidate has not deposited the fees till the time and the date decided for deposition of fees.

4. If the candidate has used unfair means like bribe or threat for seeking admission in the college.

5. If the admission is not according to the latest rules of M.G.S. University, Bikaner.

6. If the candidate has been found guilty of grave misconduct in the previous year or during university examination.

7. If the candidate has been held guilty for misbehaving with faculty members or has criminal record.

*All admission in Prabhu Dhan Degree College, Bhorugram will be done in accordance to the new admission policy by Directorate of College Education, Jaipur. 6

Facilities

LIBRARYCollege Library and Reading room both are situated at SATYA building. Along with the text book and books of general interest, our library also subscribes magazines, news papers and journals in Hindi & English. “Open shelves” system is prevalent in library. Students just has to show their Identity Cards to the librarian and can read the books of their interest inside the reading room.

LIBRARY RULES1. Maximum two books at a time are issued

for a period of 14 days.2. A fine of Rs. 10 per volume per day is

charged for the books returned after the due date.

3. Reference books, journals and magazines are not issued.

LABORATORIESPrabhu Dhan Degree College has well equipped

labs for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Geography

and Zoology for the practical implications of

learning.

SPORTSThe college not only focuses on academic development but also on the physical and emotional development of students. Variety of indoor & outdoor games available under the supervision of expert coaches.

VIRTUAL LABSObjective of virtual labs in various disciplines in science is to provide complete Learning Management System. Various tools for learning include Web resources, Audio Video Lectures, Animated Demonstration and Self Evaluation. Thus, Prabhu Dhan Degree College provides a platform to its students to perform their talents at national and international levels. 7

There is a provision of merit based scholarships by BCT. Additionally various scholarships are

made available to Prabhu Dhan Degree College students by State and Central Government.

The Government of Rajasthan has announced the Chief Minister Higher Education Scholarship

Scheme 2012 / Mukhyamantri Uchch Shiksha Chhatravratti Yojana 2012. This scholarship is

awarded to the outstanding students of low income group to get higher education. All students

can apply for this scholarship, subject to eligibility norms. Students are required to apply

through the prescribed format.

1. A scholarship of Rs. 500/- per month will be paid to students belonging to lower

income group for 10 months in a year i.e. maximum of Rs. 5000/- per annum.

2. The benefit will be available for a period of 5 years provided that the student continues

his/her studies for 5 years.

Application for scholarship should be made through a

prescribed application form which can be obtained from the college. The detailed application

Note : This scheme will be provided if Government will continue for session 2014-15.

Two term tests are mandatory in M.G.S. University, Bikaner for all classes of each faculty. If a

student remains absent in this test for unobvious reasons, he/she will be penalize for the same.

Elementary Computer Education is compulsory for all the First year students.

Girl's Hostel :- Besides accommodating meritorious students, admission will be granted on first come first served basis. Admission in hostels is granted after admission in College.

Boy's Hostel :- Private hostels for boys are available at very nominal charges near the college campus.

The purpose of the Scout & Guide /Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is to contribute towards the development of young individuals in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as responsible citizens and as members of the local, national and international communities.

Skill development programme is a first of its kind in the region to facilitate the development and upgrading of the skills of the students of Prabhu Dhan Degree College. Our primary goal is to grow a work force of youth to support the developing economy of India. This year emphasis will be laid down on transportation/ logistics; low cost electronic instruments maintenance and repair and education skill development by practical methods.

Students of PDDC are expected to observe following conduct :-

Ragging is strictly prohibited. A student found guilty of this crime may be severely punished by the Principal.

Silence should be maintained in the class rooms, the library, and the corridor of the college to provide calm atmosphere congenial to students.

Use of Mobile Phones in the College Campus is strictly prohibited.

Dress code should be maintained.

Identity Card to be shown/produced by students whenever asked by College authorities.

Written permission (from Principal) is required by the students who wish to go outside the College during college hours.

Observe discipline and decorum in and outside the class-room in college premises and during functions.

Keep the environment neat, and clean by making use of dustbins.

Students should understand that no one is allowed to disfigure or deface walls of college by any marks, Violation of which attracts strong action.

Damaging the College property will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Utilize free vacant periods in reading books, magazines and news papers available in the library.

Quarrels and disputes should be avoided. No one will be allowed to take the law in his/her hands.

75% attendance in each subject is must for appearing in University Examination.

Exhibit fine manners and excellent behavior, use decent language, be courteous & polite in dealing with fellow scholars and College staff.
