Propuesta CHIPE -AMERICORPS
AmeriCorps is a program of the U.S. federal government engaging adults in intensive community service work with the goal of helping others and meeting critical needs in the
community. Members commit to full- or part-time positions
offered by a network of nonprofit community organizations and public agencies, to fulfill assignments in the fields of education, public safety, health care, and environmental protection.
The program is often compared to the Peace Corps as its domestic counterpart.

Expected Outcomes At the end of the 1st year, Create 2 km recreational/educative waterways & trails Conduct 1+ energy audit at UPRM bldg Perform 2+ beach cleanup at Mayaguez and
1+ waterfall cleanup activity
Collect 1+ ton of domestic waste and materials and recycle 90%+ of the recyclable material collected;
Offer 5+ training sessions to the communities and students
Develop a pilot demo project in sustainable agriculture and pisciculture @UPRM
Budget
Will be managed by M.Municipality Should cover costs for
volunteers stipends ~$1000-$15,000 +Ed.Fell. activities eco-food, educational eco-materials, training, tools for projects…
