Proposed regulation around waste produced in the Malaysian Palm Milling
Presented by : Vinesh Sinha Founder & Managing Director, FatHopes Energy Sdn Bhd Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Fix an oil recovery yield and get buy in from the production site, to enable maximum generation of revenue
from each production site
• 3-MCPD Was a reason for rejecting palm oil as it is claimed to be carcinogenic
• 3-MCPD originates from Empty Fruit Bunch Oil / Palm Oil recovered from sludge pit and/or recognised as palm oil mills effluent
• This initiative will divert all these waste and residue material toward biofuels reducing the national stock pile significantly
• This will also provide the country leverage to get palm oil accepted to EU as the contaminates will reduce and well as the biofuel refineries in EU reliant on Malaysia

✔
✔100% Sustainable
• As an industry and leading certification body we should be united and instigate the diversion of unsafe materials from entering the food products
• To meet global demand each and every company should be discovering more native sustainable materials and proposing to the certification body - ISCC Should have a process for this
• Every company in the W+R industry must have the stewardship and accountability not to look away - stand up for what is right and not allow economic incentive to dilute the sustainability intent
• Competition is healthy but in our industry where there is are incentives (DC) it creates a rush for opportunist to take advantage of these incentives - this is a big question, can we live without it and if we cannot - we have to safeguard our position
A diversified portfolio of sustainable feedstocks
Used Cooking Oil Animal tallow Waste fish fat Grease trap oil Palm effluent sludge
Spent bleaching earth oil
Spent coffee grind oil
Technical fatty acids
Empty palm fruit bunch oil
Macro algae oil
Constantly innovating & searching for more feedstock options
Live remote monitoring across all our unique locations
• Providing reliable data matched to internal production site SOP of waste oil disposal may it be factories or restaurants
• Improved logistical efficiency and service to individual production sites as we are sure that there will be timely collection with constant monitoring
• Accurate and actual GHG calculation as all location are geo tagged and detailed route analysis can be conducted

CONCLUSION
With our innovation in big data and IOT integration, we believe that these new generation solutions will provide a much more robust and reliable method of sustainability reporting at an insignificant cost
Promoting sustainable waste and residue feedstock accumulation for the purpose of advance biofuel production must come with downstream innovation that engage multi stakeholders to ensure consistency of large feedstock volumes
