Terminology
• Ratio: comparison of two numbers by division
(commonly expressed as a fraction )– Ratios can also be expressed as a:b or a to b
• Proportion: equation stating two ratios are equal• To solve a proportion, multiply both sides by
the LCM of the denominators. This will eliminate all fractions.
