Band CostumeWe will be making sure the band follow the same style as typical indie bands. In doing some research, many indie styled males wear dark skinny jeans or dark trousers, plain top or shirts usually grey or white, boot shoes either black or brown and some sort of jacket (either leather, denim or blazer style) or shirt (quite often a flannel shirt). We can take inspiration from the actual band (The Crookes) themselves and model similar look to our band members in the video.

Artist Costume

For the artist we want him to look very stereotypical so he will be wearing baggy jeans, old canvas shoes, white t-shirt tucked in and possibly a lightweight jacket e.g. flannel shirt.

Photography Plans - BandFor the photography plan of the band we want to keep with the indie conventions and take images of the band playing live, this can be done by taking some still shots during filming. We also want to take some similar images of the band like done on the Crookes album ‘Soap Box’ as seen on the bottom left. Also to get a variety of images take some singular shots and various positions of the band. The location will be simply in the studio of the photography room.

For the character in the film and the main music video we will be taking more still shots, this will allow us to promote the music video and also use the stills as part of the digi-pack as some bonus materials to add along side the lyric sheet, these can be made into posters and possibly stickers.A big inspiration to the shots in our music video was a film called ‘J'ai tué ma mère’ (I killed my mother). We used the paint scene in the film as our main inspiration, we want to follow a similar style to the shots used in this particular scene so we shall also be using a lot of stills from this. As seen in our survey, our target audience highlighted the significance of visuals within a music video so using clear crisp shots will be key.

Photography Plans – Music Video

Location wise we will just need to do a few shots within the streets of York and then the rest will be shot in an art building in York where by we can set up a place for the artist to throw paint at the canvas, this building also has a roof top to shoot a few of the inspiration parts of the video
