• Board of Directors = Exec Committee + Core Specialty representatives.
• 100% volunteer entity.
• All documents and materials are copyrighted.
• Confidentiality and COI statements annually required for Board members.
Initial Certification Criteria
• 2 continuous years of on - the -job experience in an ACGME or ACGME - I, or AOA/ACGME accredited specialty or sub - specialty at the time of application submission.
• 15 hours of Education Credits (ECs) completed within the previous 3 years.
• EC topics must be related to graduate medical education or professional development, with the majority focused on GME.
• 1 hour attending conference meeting or webinar = 1 Education Credit.
• Pay $350. certification fee.

Assessments will be completed at testing sites.
Candidates will schedule assessment appointment.
One assessment; approximately 3.5 - 4 hours.
Question types: randomized multiple choice, short answer, fill - in - the -blank, and matching questions.
Resource documents will be available in advance and at the test sites as PDFs.
Retakes occur within same year.

To achieve certification, a score of 80% or higher is required.
Results will be available to candidates upon completion of assessment.
Certification is valid for 5 years.
Certificate and membership pin: 4 - 6weeks.

• To remain continuously certified, MOC must occur during the 5th year of the initial certification or MOC.
• 20 hours of education credits (ECs) of GME related content within the immediately previous 5 years.

• Knowledge of day - to -day program management is the #1 factor for successful certification.
• Become extremely familiar with resource documents. Pay particular attention to the knowledge content areas not often used in your daily GME routine.

• Build study time into your schedule!
