WHY investing into SDGs?

The business imperative for engaging in the SDGs is based both on the value to the business and the values of the business. Tackling sustainable development challenges helps to identify and mitigate material risks and costs for many companies and strengthen their relationships, licence to operate and longer-term resilience. It can also create opportunities for innovation and for accessing new producers, consumers and growth markets. In short, it can help companies both to protect value or manage risks as well as create value or enhance opportunities for the company and its stakeholders. Beyond this, engagement in the SDGs can help companies to articulate and demonstrate the deeper values of progressive business leaders and their employees, investors and customers as active citizens in their own right.

HOW can we help you with it?

AIESEC in Egypt aims at supporting Egypt in achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. Through a variety of national and local projects that address pressing social issues, we aim to provide a better future for all Egyptians across different domains. Through the support, time, and effort of our volunteers who come in from all over the world all around the year we are able to proactively draw a better future for our country.

Additionally, our impact is only made possible through the like-minded organizations that we partner with to deliver our impact. We believe a lot in partnering with others to ensure that we are collectively able to achieve our common social objectives.

The project Enable is about supporting Egypt in achieving no poverty. Eradicating poverty is a must to ensure that all Egyptians’ basic needs are met, and that they are able to pursue better lives. Through our efforts, we aim to empower impoverished Egyptian communities, ensure their basic living needs are addressed, and support them in creating better futures for themselves. The project aims to bring the communities’ basic wishes to life by using the already available resources.

Our volunteers will get the opportunity to work on developing ideas and implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing underprivileged communities in Egypt. They will heavily engage with locals and local organizations to come up with and implement solutions that can address the local community’s needs.

All of the project team will work on bringing the ideas reached to life. The project team will consist of international volunteers, local volunteers, and AIESEC member.

The project Enlighten is about supporting Egypt in achieving Quality Education. Quality education is a must to ensure a promising and secure future for Egyptians. Through your efforts, we aim to enhance the quality of the education in Egypt and increase the number of Egyptians who have relevant skills for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.

Our volunteers will get the opportunity to work in an organization that directly contributes to enhancing the quality of the education in Egypt. They will support the organization’s operations in the various areas: teaching different subjects, marketing for the organization, web development, etc.

ENSURE INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE QUALITY EDUCATION AND PROMOTE LIFELONG LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL

Marketing Teaching Web Development

The project Empower is about supporting Egypt in achieving Gender Equality. Gender equality is must in order to ensure all forms of discrimination against women and girls are eliminated, and ensure equal opportunities. Through your efforts, we aim to spread awareness on the issue within the Egyptian community, as well as support women in overcoming the challenges they face on a daily basis.

Our volunteers will get the opportunity to work in an organization that directly contributes to enhancing gender equality in Egypt.

The project Explore is about supporting Egypt in achieving Decent Work and Economic Growth. Tourism is a key contributor to Egypt’s economy due to the country’s rich culture and history, as well as diverse attractive sites and cities. Through our efforts, we aim to promote Egypt’s local culture and improve its tourism rates over the next years.

Our volunteers will get the opportunity to travel around Egypt, visiting different cities. As they travel around, they will document their whole experience. Through the pictures they take, videos and blogs, they will show the whole world Egypt through their eyes and help improve the country’s tourism rates.
