Mercy Hospital Western Hills Project SEARCH This program offers various rotation sites, offering student interns a wide range of experiences and utilizing various skill levels. Interns spend about 10 weeks in a total of 3 rotations at Mercy Hospital throughout the school year, August through May. Students who participate in Project SEARCH graduate from their high schools and then defer acceptance of diplomas while in the program. Project SEARCH is targeted for students with disabilities whose goal is com- petitive employment in an office or business setting. Students are immersed in the workplace, which facilitates the teaching and learning process through continuous feedback and application of new skills. Excellent attendance habits are important for students to learn in order to keep jobs, so interns are responsible for calling the instructor and the department they are working in when they are going to be absent or late. Most students bring lunches from home, or they may purchase lunch in the hospital’s cafeteria. Dress Code: no jeans or shorts gym shoes preferred (top only) full uniform of hospital scrubs, depending on the work. Job Placement:
