5.0 DESIGN APPROACH5.2 CASE STUDY
CASE STUDY 1 : KAKKO HOUSE, YYAA LOCATION : OSAKA, OSAKA PREFECTURE, JAPAN
Located in a densely built-up area of Osaka, Japan, the owner of this house is a couple with their child. The size of the site is 3.4m x 13m. The house is framed in exposed structural steel, covered with thin fire - resistant adiabatic panels . The expanded metal stair connects each floors and spreads the sun light inside. In this house, they are living like birds swinging from branch to branch.
It contains six floors with split levels :- Level 1 (Basement Level) : BedroomLevel 2 (Ground Level): GarageLevel 3 (First Level) : Bedroom (For the little girl)Level 4 (Second Level ) : Living SpaceLevel 5 (Third Level) : Bathroom Level 6 (Roof) : Roof Terrace

Diagram 1: Natural Lighting Diagram 2: Natural Ventilation
CASE STUDY 2 : TOWNHOUSE, ELDING OSCARSONLOCATION : LANDSKRONA,SWEDENThe site, 75 m2, is sandwiched between very old neighbouring buildings in Landskrona, Sweden. The building relates to the surroundings in scale, proportion and rhythm of low and tall buildings in the street. Our aim is to use small means to create an array of different spatial experiences in this very small project to create a razor sharp contrast, to express inherent clarity, but more importantly to highlight the beauty of the surroundings. Compressed slab construction, unconventional ceiling heights, and the ground floor flush to the street level, allows three floors into a volume aligned with the neighbouring roof tops. The openness to all directions generates a building both monolithic and transparent.
Interior consists of a single space, softly partitioned by three exposed steel slabs. They are divided by programs : -1. Kitchen2. Dining3. Living4. Bed5. Bath6. Roof Terrace

Proposed Rental With Loose Furniture
In conclusion, it would be best for the client to rent out the house at RM 2250 ( inclusive of loose furniture ) because the return would be faster as compared to the rental without loose furniture. This however means that the budget would have to be increased to RM 115, 000 which is RM 15 000 more than the original budget.
