Project Forum Corner Methodology

Step 1. To prepare a template of Project Data Sheet (PDS)

Step 2. To deliver the PDS in advance

Step 3. To collect ideas related with the topics to be discussed

Step 4. To present each idea to the participants

Step 5. To split the attendants into groups, where each idea is described by each

person proposing it. Other group participants add value and contribute

toconsortia formation.

Step 6. Facilitators suggest EU Programmes potentially supporting each topic

Step 7. Conclusions

3 Waste management technologies

Management of straw

- The project is an innovative model of recycling of the straw of

cereals, one of the principal waste generated in the

withdrawal of the cereals instead of the incineration.

- In this way, burning and the subsequent environmental

impact will be avoided.

- Valencia focuses on the rice straw.

• To reduce atmospheric pollution caused by the annual burning of

over 70,000 tonnes of straw;

• To identify markets and infrastructures for the value enhancement of

straw and other by-products by means of solutions which are already

developed in European projects and other solutions which are being

studied in order to seek technological innovation in this field.

4 Bio-ethanol production from agricultures waste

Goals:

– Development of clean energies from orange pulp and peel

– Reduction of CO2 Emissions

– Create a new development field for the citrus sector

– Establishing working networks between enterprises and research institutes

5 Biomass – Paulownia

• The project includes growing trees for biomass

production and processing vegetal by-products for

receiving ecological fuel to be sed in thermo power

plants.

• The manufacturing activity will be organized in the region

of the town of Turn; some other regions have been

currently explored too. Fast-growing trees of Paulownia

genus, suitable for biomass production, will be grown.:
