Project Elusive Hyena

Discover if there is more than one;
Discover den locations; Discover feed habits;
Discover if the population is healthy.
Equipment:Drag picture to placeholder or click icon to add
Camera trap; Chum ( sardines, blood
and water); Sardines;
If possible bait ( dead meat);
Sprayer; Empty bottles; Latex gloves.
Method: Find tracks or other signs of hyena activity; Put camera traps in those places; Place chum and bait in that area; Face the camera trap to the chum and/or bait; Every 2 days replace the chum;
Note: Rangers to be made aware of project and encouraged to
report any sings of Hyena activity.
Rangers participation is vital for the success of this project.

Previous ExperienceI’ve been volunteering in
the last 3 months in Shamwari Game Reserve where I’ve worked o the
Brown Hyena Project. I think I collected the skills
required to manage this project.
