RECOMMENDATION
That the Board of Trustees approve the Final Budget of$1156000 for Alumni Shower Renovation project for Construction The Administration recommends that the Board of Trustees adopt the Resolution below
RESOLUTION
Be it resolved that the Board of Trustees approve the use of $1087000 in UCONN 2000 General Obligation (GO) bonds and $69000 in University Funds for the Residential Life Facilities-Alumni Quad Shower Renovations project
BACKGROUND
Alumni Quad consists of four six-story buildings each with two bathrooms per floor except for the first floor which has one Two of the buildings shower areas Brock and Eddy have been repaired over the years but continue to leak into the corridors and rooms below
The Alumni Quad Shower Renovations project consists of demolishing all of the shower areas in Brock and Eddy and rebuilding with new ceramic tile showers including new valves fixtures and accessories Each bathroom floor will have an epoxy coating applied to improve the aesthetics of the bathroom
On May 24 2017 the project budget was increased by $51000 (5 of the approved Final Budget) from $1030000 to $1081000 on the authority of the Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer (EVP ACFO) with the caveat that additional funds may be requested in June 2017 Board of Trustees policy permits the EVP ACFO to approve Office of the Executive Vice President for

That the Board of Trustees approve the Final Budget of $700000 for Residential Life FacilitiesshyAlumni Quad Shower Renovations project for Construction The Administration recommends that the Board of Trustees adopt the Resolution below
RESOLUTION
Be it resolved that the Board of Trustees approve the use of $69000 in University Funds and $631000 in UCONN 2000 bond funds for Residential Life Facilities - Alumni Quad Shower Renovations project
BACKGROUND
Alumni Quad consists of four six-story buildings each with two bathrooms per floor except for the first floor which has one Two of the buildings shower areas Brock and Eddy have been repaired over the years but continue to leak into the corridors and rooms below
The Alumni Quad Shower Renovations project consists of demolishing all of the shower areas in Brock and Eddy and rebuilding with new ceramic tile showers including new valves fixtures and accessories Each bathroom floor will have an epoxy coating applied to improve the aesthetics of the bathroom
The Final Budget is based on an independent third party cost estimator
