* As a Designer at PlaygroundSquad your main responsibility is to provide quality game design for your own portfolio as well as the projects you are involved in. * The apprenticeship is divided between studying and working in authentic or client-ordered projects.
* A senior developer from the industry will assist you in your training and guide you through your projects on a daily basis.
* During projects you will work in teams together with friends from the Artist, Designer and Programmer disciplines.

As a member of the design team your duties will include;
• generating game scripts and storyboards;
• creating the visual aspects of the game at the concept stage;
• using 2D or 3D modelling and animation software, such as Maya, at the production stage;
• producing the audio features of the game, such as the character voices, music and sound effects;
• programming the game using programming languages such as C++;
• quality testing games in a systematic and thorough way to find problems or bugs and recording precisely where the problem was discovered;
• solving technical problems that occur within the game’s production;
• Gaining knowledge of colleagues, clients, publishers and gamers;
• understanding complex written information, ideas and instructions;
• working closely with team members to meet the needs of a project;
• planning resources and managing both the team and the process;
• performing effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines to ensure the game is completed on time

Apprenticeship role:
Reporting to the director and web design manager, you will work closely with the team to work on front-end and back-end development of websites for clients across a range of industries.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Liaising directly with clients; As such, you should be presentable and a confident communicator who is comfortable acting as an ambassador for the company
• You'll be expected to bring your own ideas forward to fulfil the client's brief and deliver work which reflects The Design & Print Co's commitment to perfection
Requirements:
• Experience with basic web design and development is essential, including a familiarity with HTML, PHP and CSS
• You should have a good working knowledge of Wordpress, Magento and Dreamweaver, as well as an excellent standard of IT literacy overall
• Ideally you will also be familiar with SEO concepts and comfortable working with Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator
• You should have excellent organisation skills, as you will be expected to balance multiple projects and deadlines to complete a high workload without compromising on quality
• We value creativity, imagination and confidence
