InterregBalticSeaRegion fundingcooperation
TheoverallobjectiveoftheProgrammeistostrengthenintegratedterritorialdevelopmentandcooperationforamoreinnovative,betteraccessibleandsustainableBalticSeaRegion.TheProgrammepromotestransnationalcooperationandintegrationbyprojectsaddressingcommonchallengesandopportunitiesoftheregion.TheProgrammeexploitsopportunitiesandaddressesissueswhichcannotsufficientlybedealtwithbysinglecountries.ChallengesandopportunitiesthatrequireajointresponsebypartnersfromseveralcountriesfromtheBalticSeaRegionincludeimprovingtheenvironmentalstatusofBalticwatersorusingtheexportpotentialofgreenmaritimetechnologies.TheProgrammeinvests instrengtheningtheinstitutionalcapacitiesofparticipatingauthorities,institutionsandcompanies.Theaimistoimprovetheirabilitytobenefitfromjointworkandcooperationbeyondborders.
TheProgrammewillcontributetoEurope2020,theEuropeanUnionstenyeargrowthstrategy totransfertheEUintoa smart,sustainableandinclusiveeconomy.Furthermore,theProgrammehelpstoimplementtheEUStrategyfortheBalticSeaRegion(EUSBSR).Itfinancesseedmoneyandflagshipprojectsandprovidessupporttostrategygovernanceandannualfora,i.e.toPriorityAreaCoordinators(PAC)andHorizontalActionLeaders(HAL).
