THE TECHNICAL VISIT12 September
1. Binhai New Area Planning and Construction Exhibition
2. Tianjin port EXPO
Tianjin Expo Center is an imposing building made up of four solid
walls around the main body of the central hall. The size of the
Expo building is 25.98 thousand square meters with an overall
exhibition area of 11,000 square meters. It is divided into 4 areas :
“History and Evolution of the Tianjin Plain - Ancient Tianjin Port"
,"Modern Tianjin Port-1","Modern Tianjin Port-2" and "The future
of Tianjin Port". The exhibition is designed to show the origin of the
Tianjin Port, the changes, history, development and the interaction
of the Port with the urban development.

Tianjin Dong Jiang port area
Tianjin port is located on the Tianjin port sea reclamation
island, in association with the completion of the harbor area of
33.5 square kilometers. Deep water berths and facilities for the
11 million teu per annum together with two international car
storage areas will build
Tianjin Binhai Artificial Beaches
The Port Area of Tianjin Port is located in the southeastern part
of the first Dong Jiang artificial beach which is constructed
by dredging and filling. The beach is a half-arc, enclosed by a
breakwater. The Length of the "Golden Beach" is 1257 meters
with a gentle slope stretching from the coast to the sea. The
Artificial beach made up of sand is up to 1.2 m average thickness.
All the sand, about 20 million tons, is imported from Fujian,
The beach ramp is designed to fully take into account tidal
fluctuations and water conditions so as to prevent any washing
away of the sand
3. Tianjin Dong Jiang Artificial Island Tianjin Port is being built on the muddy shore areas of a shallow
sea. Through decades of research and the taking effective
measures, sediment deposition is no longer a constraint to the
development of the port. On the contrary, every year hundreds of
tones of soil from the port has become an important resource for
land reclamation. In order to expand the space for the development
of Tianjin Port land reclamation of 13.5 square kilometers was
completed in 2007 with completed land reclamation of 20 square
kilometers in 2009. Tianjin Dong Jiang Port will be located within
33.5 square kilometer area of this artificial island.

The Forbidden CityThe Forbidden City is surrounded by 10-metre high walls and a
52-metre wide moat. Measuring 961 meters from north to south
and 753 meters from east to west, it covers an area of 720,000
square meters. Twenty-four emperors lived and ruled from this
palace during this 500-year span.
The Great WallThe Great Wall, like the Pyramids of Egypt, the Taj Mahal in
India and the Hanging Garden of Babylon, is one of the great
wonders of the world.
Starting out in the east on the banks of the Yalu River in Liaoning
Province, the Wall stretches westwards for 12,700 kilometers to
Jiayuguan in the Gobi desert, thus known as the Ten Thousand
Li Wall in China. The Wall climbs up and down, twists and turns
along the ridges of the Yanshan and Yinshan Mountain Chains
through five provinces--Liaoning, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi,
and Gansu--and two autonomous regions-Ningxia and Inner
Mongolia, binding the northern China together.
The Ming TombsAt a distance of 50 km northwest of Beijing stands an arc-
shaped cluster of hills fronted by a small plain. Here is where 13
emperors of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) were buried The area
is known as the Ming Tombs.
The Sacred WayThe Sacred Way that can now be visit was originally designed for
the Changling Tomb. The sacred way to other tombs originated
from this but later became general known as the sacred way.
Along the 7.3 kilometer length of the sacred way stands the
Marble Archway, the Big Red Gate, Tablet Tower, Stone Statues
and Dragon and Phoenix Gates.

The National Grand Theater
The National Stadium
The Beijing National Stadium, also known as the bird's nest was the main track and field
stadium for the 2008 Summer Olympics and hosted the Opening and Closing ceremonies. In
2002 Government officials engaged architects worldwide in a design competition. Pritzker
Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron collaborated with Arup Sport and China
Architecture Design & Research Group to win the competition. The stadium seated as many
as 100,000 spectators during the Olympics, but has been reduced to 80,000 since the games.
The National Aquatic CentreConstruction of this landmark project, also
called the "Water Cube," officially started on
December 24, 2003. The structural work of
concrete and steel was finished in July 2006.
This was followed by the installation of the
membrane structures latter that year.

controversial, with some describing the arts
complex designed by French architect Paul
Andreu as being out of keeping with its near
neighbor, the Forbidden City. Others hail it as
a futuristic, signature building. The center,
which is to the west of Tian’anmen Square,
boasts three large halls — a 2,416-seat opera
house, a 2,017-seat concert hall and a 1,040-
seat theater. Construction of the National
Grand Theater began in December 2001 and
was completed in late September 2007. The
total cost of the building was 2.69 billion
yuan.
Chang Li China Manor
Changli is located in northeastern part of Hebei province. Its geographical location and
soil is analogical with Bordeaux, France. Here is the biggest cellar of Asia.
Shanhaiguan Old hydrants--- the Beginning of the Great Wall
The walled town of Shanhaiguan gaurds the
narrow plain that lead to north-eastern China
and is renowned for the site where the Great
Wall snakes out of the hills into the sea. “Old
hydrants” area is 5 km south of the high sea
floor. It is a cornerstone of the base platform
forming a peninsula into the Bohai Sea. Like a
dragon, the Great Wall, leads into the sea, the
sea waves stir up and down, hence them being
named after the "old hydrants."
