Programmable Process Control:

EBZ ProControl

KEY FEATURES

• easy graphical programming language

• developed for the automation of test rigs

• simulates a virtual user, who is able to moni-tor and influence variables

• syntax check for fail-safe operation

• time-controlled, event-controlled or mixed code execution

• sequences can be saved, loaded, appended and transferred to other test stands

• complete test and process automation

STRUCTURE OF THE SOFTWARE

stack test rig with liftable hood-type furnace

STEP 1 ACTIONS increasing, decreasing or setting variables to a dedicated valuefor all published data it is possible to• change setpoints• switch variables• control actuators and so on

A step contains actions, events and go on conditions.

A step list contains several steps for automation of the test-rig. The step list can be moved to other PCs.

working time-controlled, event-controlled or in mixed-mode

logical operations (<, >, =, !=, >=, <=)

comparing process variables to thresholds or other process variables

supports minimum duration of a true condition and accepted deviation

logical operations (AND, OR, NEGATION) to combine events

up to 5 inputs for every logic unit

3 hierarchical logical units, where

direct »go on conditions« and »go on targets« for programming loops and branches

STEP 2 EVENTS

STEP 3 GO ON CONDITIONS

DATA SHEET

ACTION DIALOG

• name the action

• choose the according variable of the PLC

• set the function to be used e.g. a fixed value

• set values or dependencies to other variables within the PLC or sequence

GO ON TARGET

• choose time-controlled or event-controlled transition to the next step

EVENT DIALOG

• name the event

• choose the according variable

• set the function to be used e.g. a comparison to a fixed value, a relative time or an absolute time target

• set the target value and define deviations and / or a minimum time for the event state

Page 3: Programmable Process Control: EBZ ProControldownload.ebz-dresden.de/images/...Cells_ProControl.pdf · EBZ ProControl KEY FEATURES • easy graphical programming language • developed

SEQUENCE CHECK DIALOG

• all variables and program structures are controlled to be valid

• warnings and errors show the position where the message was generated

GO ON CONDITION

• choose logical combination

• choose number of inputs

• negate several inputs and / or the output

• logical combinations in up to 3 hierarchical levels

• choose the next step

OVERVIEW-FILE

• the actual sequence is stored in a txt-file for documentation purposes

DATA SHEET

ACTUAL EVENT STATE

• shows information during the execution of a sequence

• shows “TRUE” and “FALSE” states

• shows remaining time until next steps will be executed

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

• easy graphical programming - no difficult script or programming language

• acts as a virtual user who is able to monitor and influence variables

• sequences can be saved, loaded, appended and transferred to other test stands

• including an overriding event management for parallel supervising of variables

• complete process automation, e.g.

recording of characteristic curves

predefined procedures

threshold monitoring

• interaction with OPC variables from other test benches possible

• stable operation with minimum loop execution time of one second

• program runs on the test rig PC

• sequence protocols are stored in txt-files with time stamps for every action, event and go on condition
