Introduction
Achievement House Cyber
Charter School is a pub-lic, tuion-free school serving
grades 7 through 12, chartered
by the Pennsylvania Department
of Educaon. Our goal is to pro-
vide you and your child the best
educaonal experience possible in order to prepare for the future.
AHCCS provides each student with a computer, printer, and internet connec-
on reimbursement so that they can pursue their educaonal goals on their
own schedule in the comfort of their home! Students can also take advan-
tage of the addional support oered by our highly qualied teaching sta
at our innovave learning centers in both eastern and western Pennsylvania.
The dynamic Achievement House program relies on close collaboraon be-
tween teachers and parents to provide the best possible environment for
student success. Students receive a diploma upon graduaon and have the
opportunity to parcipate in our graduaon ceremony and senior prom.

The mission of Achievement House Cyber Charter School is dedicatedto providing a comprehensive curriculum, individually designedto meet each students needs. AHCCS integrates quality services and
educaonal programs, state-of-the-art technology, research-based cur-
riculum development, and instruconal pracces into a dynamic, non-
tradional learning community.
AHCCS is commied to providing all students connual opportunies to
achieve individual excellence, appreciate human value, contribute posi-
vely to a changing world, and become contribung, life-long learners
and globally responsible cizens.

Course Selection Process
Course selecon sheets are provided by our guidance counselingdepartment for students to ll out and submit to their guidancecounselor by June 21 for the upcoming school year. Students will be con-
tacted by the guidance counselor regarding course placement.
Schedule Change Policy
You can change your mind about courses anyme up to two weeks into the start of theschool year. That is the deadline for any adds,
drops, or changes. Aer that point, regardless
of whether or not a course you are taking isrequired for graduaon, you cannot drop it (un-
less approved by our principal).
If you enroll with AHCCS in the midst of a school year, you will have two
weeks to determine if you will decide to remain in the course or to drop
or change it. Adds/drops/changes for ANY course must be submied to
the Guidance Counselor and approved by our school principal.

Graduation Requirements
Students must complete 20 credits, a graduaon project, and earn a
GPA of at least 1.0 in order to graduate.
Students must earn 4 English credits, 3 Mathemacs credits, 3 Social Studies
credits, 3 Science credits, 2 PE/Health credits, and 5 elecve credits. Students
enrolled in grades 9-11 are required to complete 1 Foreign Language credit.
Students may take up to 2 summer school credits per summer towards
credit recovery.
Guidance and Mentoring Program
School Guidance Counselors aid students through the course seleconprocess, provide assistance with educaonal goal seng; post-highschool planning; career and college informaon; home, school, and/or
social concerns; or any other concerns a student or parent may encounter.
The Guidance Department works closely with Pupil Services, Mentors,
Teachers, and Administrators to ensure that we develop a program of
studies to prepare your child for life aer high school.
Every student at AHCCS has a designated mentor. The mentors role is to
orient students and parents to the cyber world. They will provide sup-
port to you and your family throughout your me at our school. Men-
tors are here to promote student success and to ensure every student isgiven the opportunity to reach their full potenal.
Mentors:
- Promote posive communicaon between students and teachers;
- Work with students on movaon and planning; and
- Monitor progress and problem solve
Upon enrolling in our school, every student will be contacted by their
mentor through the intake interview. Students will then be guided
through an orientaon program that will help acclimate them to the cy-
ber school environment. Mentors are available to each of their students
via phone, Pronto, or e-mail during school hours.
