employability skills and life skills through learning
about Agriscience and entrepreneurship activities.

• Grow fruit and vegetables
• Offer garden harvest for sale on local campus
• Earn local AgriScience certificate
• Participate in an internship and find employment in
Agricultural, Natural Resources and/or Food Production
industries

• Providing Inclusive status proved difficult in the original vision.
• It was an easy realization that Grow Your Future should be
held on one of BCPS Technical College campuses.
• Grow Your Future was launched on the campus of McFatter
Technical College.
• New Goal = Industry Certification through participation in the
inclusive Culinary Arts program.

This program offers a sequence of courses that provide the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Hospitality & Tourism career cluster, including:

• occupation-specific skills
Ultimate Goal:ServSafe Industry Certification
Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts program certificate
• 9 active students 2018-2019
• 4 ServSafe Manager Industry Certifications earned
• March 2019 – anticipated date of first full program completer
• Partner with Broward County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Department to
place completers in Food Service Employment

• Grant opportunity offered by Florida Development Disabilities Council Inc. (FDDC) in 2015
• TOPS is a Career Technical Education (CTE) Model• Grant opportunity from Florida Center for Students
with Unique Abilities (FCSUA) in 2017• TOPS applied for and received the status of Florida
Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program(FPCTP)on July 2017.
• TOPS began Year 4 in October 2018• Approved as Comprehensive Transition and
Postsecondary (CTP) Program in December 2018
