PRE-REGISTERED PROGRAMS:
Baby Explorers (13 - 18 mos.): Babies and toddlers are given the opportunity to engage in various activities that promotes their social and cognitive development. Parents are also given an opportunity to network with each other.
Baby Gym Time (13 - 18 mos.). You will learn some simple exercises to do with your growing babies. Learn how to incorporate exercise into your daily routine and help your baby develop their motor skills through fun activities.
Boogie Babies (7 - 12 mos.): Move to the beat, sway to the rhythm and groove to the dance floor! Practice dance moves and stimulate your baby’s muscles while exploring music from ballet to disco. This program includes gross motor activities.
Fun with Literacy (25 mos.+): This program provides opportunity for children to explore literacy through fun and engaging activities that enhance children’s early literacy experiences essential for school readiness.
Infant Explorers (7 - 12 mos.): Babies are given the opportunity to engage in various activities that promotes their social and cognitive development. Parents are also given an opportunity to network with each other.
Let’s Get Started”: A program for parents and their children aged 6 yrs. and under with special needs who are waiting for services and would like to receive additional support. Parents/children will receive information and support from a variety of professionals: speech & language, child development, early intervention, nutrition etc. (Please ask staff for more details).
Messy Bambinos (7- 12 mos.): Come sing songs & try a variety of sensory play activities with your child. Enjoy getting messy with your child. (Please bring “play” clothes and towel for your child as he/she will get messy.
Musical Train (19 – 24 mos.) Come sing and move with your child. This program aims to provide opportunities for self-expression through music. We will explore various musical concepts such as tempo, beat, and rhythm. A variety of materials and musical instruments will be used in the program.
My Baby & Me (0 - 6 mos.): This is an interactive program for parents/caregivers & their babies to sing songs, make home-made toys, learn from guest speaker & participate in informative discussions in a supportive environment.
Ojiibikens (25 mos.+) means ‘little root”. This is a land-based program for chil-dren, their parents and caregivers. We are bringing together language, culture, food, land, health and physical activity to create a hands-on learning environment for children.
Rhyme Time (19 - 24 mos.): Explore early literacy through fun and engaging rhyming activities; they are important building blocks in preparing children to read and write.
PARENT WORKSHOPS:
“Family First Aid & CPR”: This workshop will focus on the following topics:
victim & scene management/scenario practice, first aid kits, drowning prevention,
fevers in infants and children, minor wounds, CPR and choking for infants and
children. ** NO CHILD-MINDING available
Public Health Talks-Topics:
“Eczema Control and Prevention”: Can’t stop scratching? Itchy, dry, red skin? Gain information on how to prevent and control eczema in young children.
“Caring for Children’s Health”: Unsure whether you should go see the doctor?
Gain tips on how to prevent and assess falls, bumps, bruises, injuries and sicknesses for young children. Be informed and stay healthy!
DROP-IN PROGRAMS:
Active Fun (0 - 6 yrs.): There will be a variety of physical activities for chil-dren of all ages! Come to have fun with balls, hula hoops, tricycles, bean bag, bowl-ing, tunnel, parachute and more. All activities help promote children’s physical health while having fun with their parents.
Family Time (0 - 6 yrs.): Parents/caregivers & children can meet with others to explore a variety of fun & stimulating activities. It is also a time for parents to talk to our Early Childhood Educators to discuss any concerns/questions they may have about their child’s development and well-being
Parent Feedback Time (0 - 6 yrs.): Let us know how we are doing! Tell us your ideas. Suggest new program and/or workshop ideas. We are always open to hearing feedback from our families. A survey will be distributed.
