She focuses on global health and long-term care policies, particularly financing and coverage through social protection. She also works on universal health coverage policies including health and long-term care workforce issues. Ms. Scheil- Adlung is a member of various international boards and scientific committees and acts as an academic referee on health and long-term care policies. She previously worked with the Federal Government of Germany as Head of Division and Political Advisor in the Ministries of Health and Social Affairs dedicated to health and social protection policies. She has a PhD in Economics and a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Universities of Munich and Berlin, Germany. Britta Monika Baer

Britta Monika Baer has worked with the World Health Organization since 2011, including the last four years as Technical Officer (gender, equity, human rights, and aging) in the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific in Manila, Philippines. She supported the development of the Regional Framework for Action on Ageing and Health in the Western Pacific (2014-2019) and its endorsement by the WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific in 2013. As part of the Framework dissemination and implementation, Ms. Baer provided technical support to policy

dialogue in a number of countries, with a strong focus on health systems reorientation to better respond to the needs and preferences of older people in the context of universal health coverage. Before joining WHO, she worked for a number of different international and national actors on health and development in the European and African regions.

Peter Chan

Peter Chan is an Elder Care international consultant at the Asian Development Bank since 2014. He is also a Research Fellow of the Sau Po Centre of Ageing and Lecturer of the University of Hong Kong, China. He also holds the position of Deputy Director of the Institute of Ageing and Professor of the Beijing Normal University. He was Chief Project Administrator of CADENZA – a Hong Kong Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors, which led to the establishment of the first primary care center for the elderly in Hong Kong, China. Mr. Chan held several senior positions in Vancouver Coastal

Health, Canada, championing primary and community care redesigns, and people with disabilities and chronic conditions. He was a long-term care consultant of Health, Food, and Welfare Bureau of Hong Kong, China. He has a PhD in Ageing Policy from the University of Hong Kong and two Masters Degrees – Social Work (Social Policy and Research) and Public Health (Gerontology) from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Ng Wai Chong

Ng Wai Chong is Chief, Clinical Affairs of Tsao Foundation, a non-profit in Singapore that develops and operates innovative and impactful community and aged care services, training programs, and advocacy platforms to transform the experience of aging. Dr. Ng manages Hua Mei Mobile Clinic, the first team-managed home-based primary care model in Singapore; and Hua Mei Dementia Care System, a newly developed specialized care management program to support persons with dementia living in the community. He also helped develop ComSA@Whampoa, a

collaboration with the Ministry of Health and grassroots organizations to implement “City for All Ages” policy framework in Whampoa, an old estate with a high proportion of seniors above the age of 65. While Dr. Ng spent a large part of his career as a home-care physician, his clinical interests also include primary healthcare for the frail, elder mistreatment, dementia care, sustainable community aged care system, end-of-life care, and comprehensive needs assessment. He is a member of the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Adult Protection Team and is part of the Ministry of Health’s Working Committee to Develop Prognostication Guidelines for Home Palliative Care Services.

Kim Choo

Kim Choo is CEO of Tsao Foundation’s Hua Mei Centre for Successful Ageing. The Foundation has seven pioneering aged care programs designed to enable good health and wellbeing over the life course and support aging in place. She is also the project leader for the Community for Successful Ageing at Whompoa, coordinating efforts for the Foundation’s latest groundbreaking project – a community-wide approach to forge an integrated system of comprehensive programs and services. Trained as

a social worker, counseling therapist, and clinical supervisor, Ms. Choo has worked in team-managed primary care, home-based health and psychosocial care, and care management for elders living in the community. She has more than 20 years of experience in the aged care sector.

Ravi P. Rannan-Eliya

Ravi P. Rannan-Eliya is a Fellow and Executive Director for the Institute for Health Policy in Sri  Lanka. He specializes in Public Health and worked in Latin America, Africa, and Asia as an affiliate of Harvard University. He consulted with several countries while working with the World Bank, WHO, ADB, and other agencies and governments. He is recognized as a leading international expert in health equity research and health accounting. His current research focuses on issues of health

systems financing, aging, equity, non-communicable diseases and child undernutrition.

Sri Wening Handayani

Sri Wening Handayani is Principal Social Development Specialist of the Asian Development Bank. She provides awareness and training on social analysis, facilitates sharing of information on social dimensions and social protection, and supports external relations and coordination with development partners. She has numerous publications including the Social Protection Operational Plan 2014-2020 (2013); Social Protection Index: Assessing Results for Asia and the Pacific (2013); Handbook on Poverty and Social Analysis (2012); Social Protection for Older Persons (2012).

Prior to joining ADB, she was a consultant practitioner in social development. She has a PhD in sociology from the University of Missouri.

Hideki Hashimoto

Hideki Hashimoto is professor in Health and Social Behavior at the University of Tokyo, School of Public Health. Trained as an internist and cardiologist, he started his career in public health and social medicine to pursue his research interests on social dimension of health and illness under the current practice of healthcare and related policies. His research includes health services research, health economics, health sociology, and studies on social determinants of health. He is a Doctor of Public Health in Health Communication, Harvard School of Public Health and has

an MD from the University of Tokyo, School of Medicine.

Wendy Holmes

Wendy Holmes is an independent international public health consultant in Sri Lanka. She is an international public health physician and researcher with an interest in population aging in low-income settings. Dr. Holmes has 30 years of experience in health and development. Her interests include healthy aging, long-term care, community eye health, strengthening health systems, women’s and children’s health, HIV prevention and care, and policy development. She was Deputy Director of the Center for International Health of the Burnet Institute (2004-2010) and an

Honorary Senior Lecturer at Monash University and University of Melbourne. Dr. Holmes was Technical Director for the Sri Lanka Better Vision Healthy Aging program of the Burnet Institute in Melbourne, Australia (2012-2016). She has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and an MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom.

Yukiko Ito

Yukiko Ito is Senior Social Development Specialist, Thematic Advisory Service Cluster of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of the Asian Development Bank. She promotes the implementation of ADB’s social development agenda through her work on community-driven development, social analysis, and social protection, including areas such as older people care services and graduation approach for the extreme poor. Prior to joining ADB, Ms. Ito was involved in projects on social protection reform, conditional cash transfers, and community-driven

development in the Philippines, as well as basic education and early childhood development in Suriname and East Caribbean countries. She holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Sophia University, and a Master’s degree in Social Development from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Tina Ja

Tina Ja is senior consultant and project lead at Access Health International, Beijing. She focuses on engagement and development of new projects and partnerships and the Asia Health Innovation Leaders Network. Prior to joining Access Health International, Ms. Ja worked in wealth management in Canada, building and managing a portfolio of high net worth clients. She pursued an interest in health and population policies and social impact measurements in graduate school, focusing on digital health in the People’s Republic of China. She has an MBA from Tsinghua-MIT Sloan and holds an

Honors Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and Economics from University of Toronto.

Alexandre Kalache

Alexandre Kalache is Co-President of the International Longevity Centre Global Alliance (ILC-GA) at Columbia University, New York. He contributed to global ageing policy issues for four decades as an academic at the Universities of Oxford and London (1975-1995). As Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) global program on ageing (1995-2008), he initiated the Age-Friendly Cities movement with the launch of the WHO Global Age-friendly Cities Guide (2007) and the WHO

Active Ageing Policy Framework (2002; 2015). Dr. Kalache advises governments on ageing policy at

His work has a strong focus on fostering a culture of care, strengthening human rights, and building resilience through life-long learning and inclusive design. He also founded the International Longevity Centre-Brazil (ILC-BR) and serves as its President. He has a PhD in Epidemiology at the University of London, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom.

Thelma Kay

Thelma Kay is former Chief of the Social Development Division, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacifi c (UNESCAP) and former Senior Advisor on Ageing Issues, Ministry of Social and Family Development, Singapore. She directed UNESCAP’s work on social development, including regional implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA) and social dimensions of the international development agenda (SDGs). She currently serves as advisor and consultant to governments and international organizations and

worked on national action plans of aging, programs on social protection and care, age-friendly cities, and active aging. She participated in the United Nations Open Ended Working Group on the Rights of Older Persons. Ms. Kay served on the board of UNESCO’s International Institute of Education Planning; School of Energy, Resources, and Development, Asian Institute of Technology; and the UN International Institute for Aging Program for Asia. She is a council member of the Active Aging Consortium for Asia Pacifi c. She studied at the National University of Singapore and the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Usa Khiewrord

Usa Khiewrord is Regional Program Adviser, HelpAge International East Asia/Pacifi c region, Chiang Mai, Thailand. She has over 20 years of experience in community, social development, and aging, including policy advocacy through working with academics, civil society, government, and international organizations in the region. As program manager, she promotes improvement of age care, particularly in ASEAN countries. She provided technical support in the implementation of the ADB regional technical assistance project on Strengthening Developing Member Countries’

Capacity in Elderly Care, which covers six countries in Asia and the Pacifi c region. She has a MA in Social Work from Thammasat University, Thailand and a MSc in Gerontology from King’s College in London, United Kingdom.

Eduardo Klein

Eduardo Klein is Regional Director of HelpAge International, Asia Pacifi c Regional Offi ce. He oversees programs in collaboration with HelpAge network partners throughout the region. For the past 15 years, he has held various positions in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic , Viet Nam, and in other parts of Asia and the Pacifi c. He engages in the promotion of social and economic adaptation to the changing demographic structures and population aging. This includes policy development,

population aging research, community-based programs, and support systems for older people. Mr. Klein

lectured in International Economics at the University of Mexico and was appointed Fellow Researcher in International Development Center (QEH) in 1997 at the University of Oxford. In 2007, he was Research Fellow of the Oxford Institute of Ageing, United Kingdom. He has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and International Economics in the Netherlands and United States and an MSc in Economics at El Colegio de Mexico.

Ayumi Konishi

Ayumi Konishi is Director General of the East Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank. He is responsible for ADB operations in the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia and ADB relations with Hong Kong, China; the Republic of Korea; and Taipei,China. Mr. Konishi previously served as Director General for ADB’s Pacifi c Department (2012-13), Senior Advisor to the Strategy Policy Department (2011-12), and Country Director for Viet Nam (2006-11). He is a career international civil servant with 30 years of experience. Prior to joining ADB, he served for the

United Nations in Baghdad, Iraq (Economic Commission for Western Asia), New York (Secretariat), and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Economic Commission for Africa). He graduated from Waseda University in Japan and Oregon State University in the United States. He has a postgraduate degree from New York University in Development Economics.

Julian Koo

Julian Koo co-founded Jaga-Me, an on-demand platform built to provide patients, seniors, and their families with on-demand access to professional community nursing services and digital tools to manage the process of care. Prior to Jaga-Me, Mr. Koo created new industries for Singapore at the Economic Development Board by securing pioneer investments in next-gen biotechnology and promoting synergies between startups and MNCs. He managed innovation projects at Seattle-based

consultancy, Synapse Product Development working on skunkworks concepts for Fortune 500 clients like Disney. He is a graduate of the National University of Singapore Overseas Colleges in Silicon Valley and India. Mr. Koo is also an engineer at social SaaS startup, Gigya and a business developer at edutech startup, InOpen.

Soonman Kwon

Soonman Kwon is Chief of Health Sector Group (Technical Advisor on Health) of the Asian Development Bank. He is in-charge of overall health sector operational support and knowledge work in ADB. Until recently, he was the Dean of the School of Public Health, Seoul National University, Republic of Korea and held visiting positions at the Harvard School of Public Health, London School of Economics, University of Toronto, and Peking University. He is currently the Associate Editor of Health Policy (Elsevier). Mr. Kwon was the President of the Korean Association

of Schools of Public Health (2013-14) and Korean Gerontological Society (2015-16). He has been a member of advisory committees of WHO Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, GAVI, WHO Kobe Centre, and Swiss National Research Council. He holds a BA in business economics, MPH from Seoul National University, and PhD in health economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, United States.

Amy Leung

Amy Leung is Deputy Director General, concurrently Chief Thematic Officer of ADB’s Thematic Advisory Service Cluster under the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department covering climate change and disaster risk management, gender equity, governance, social development, agriculture, rural development and food security, NGO and civil society, and ICT for development. Prior to her current position, she was Deputy Director General of ADB’s East Asia Department covering

ADB’s operation in the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia. She was former Director of Southeast Asia Urban Development and Water Division and East Asia Urban and Social Sectors Division handling loan and grant portfolios for urban development, water supply and sanitation, education, health, and social protection. Ms. Leung has over 28 years of experience in managing multi-stakeholder and multi-disciplinary projects in Asia and North America. She has an MSc from the University of Toronto, Canada and an MBA from the National University of Singapore.

Chang Liu

Chang Liu is Managing Director for Access Health International Singapore; the People’s Republic of China; and Hong Kong, China. He manages work in East and Southeast Asia and is deeply involved in the design and supervision of aging-related projects. Mr. Liu and Access Health International President William A. Haseltine are currently working on a new book, A City for All Ages, based on best practices in elder and long-term care. His previous collaboration with Haseltine is a book on Affordable Excellence, which documents the progress toward sustainable high

quality healthcare in Singapore from 2013 to 2014. Mr. Liu is also an adjunct professor at the National University of Singapore Enterprise and the Chinese University of Hong  Kong. He previously worked on long term care and elder care policies in the United States and PRC at the Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research at Brown University. He has a PhD in Health Services Research from Brown University, with a specialization in Health Economics.

Alana Officer

Alana Officer is Senior Health Adviser of Department of Ageing and Life Course at the World Health Organization. Prior to joining WHO in 2006, she held a number of clinical, technical, and managerial positions working on health, disability, rehabilitation, and development in West and Central Africa, Europe, South Asia, Middle East and Western Pacific. From 2007 to 2014, Ms. Officer was Coordinator for the Disability and Rehabilitation Team, leading the development of landmark resources such as the WHO Global Disability Action Plan 2014-2021: Better Health

for All People with Disability (2014); World Report on Disability (2011) and Guidelines on Community-Based Rehabilitation (2010). She led the development of the World Report on Ageing and Health (2015) and currently heads the work on age-friendly environments, including the Global Network on Age-friendly Cities and Communities and the Global Campaign to Combat Ageism. Her academic background is in Podriatric Medicine, Applied Science (Exercise and Sports Science) and Public Health.

Du Peng

Du Peng is Director and Professor of the Institute of Gerontology, Renmin University, People’s Republic of China. He is also the Vice-President, Gerontological Society of China and President of Beijing Gerontological Society. He has been a member of the Experts Committee of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, board member of HelpAge International and United Nations International Institute on Ageing, and Chair of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (Asia/Oceania region) from

2009 to 2013. His research interests are population aging and aging policies. Du Peng’s publications include The Process of Population Ageing in China; The Older Persons in China; Social Gerontology; Who will Support the Older Persons?; Ageing Issues and Policies in EU Countries; Population Ageing and Ageing Issues; Population Ageing: Changes and Challenges; Disabled Persons and their Social Protection in Rural China; China’s Population in the 21st Century; and Ageing Society and Harmonious Society. He has a PhD from Renmin University, People’s Republic of China and a Post-doctoral from Duke University, United States.

Sangay Penjor

Sangay Penjor is Director of the Urban and Social Sectors Division of the Asian Development Bank. The division covers domestic water, urban, health, education, and social protection in the East Asia Department of ADB. Mr. Penjor has almost 20  years of experience in the water, sanitation, housing, and urban sectors in the People’s Republic of China, Mongolia, India, and the Philippines. He has been involved with highly successful water tariff reforms in the PRC and in the establishment of a sustainable market-based housing finance and mortgage system in Mongolia.

He actively works in the areas of development finance, water and wastewater, and urban projects. He prepared a comprehensive evaluation study on the performance of ADB’s Water Sector Policy and Operations and ADB’s Annual Portfolio Performance at the Independent Evaluation Department of ADB. He has an undergraduate degree in Finance and a Master’s degree in Management.

Siriphan Sasat

Siriphan Sasat is Associate Professor of Gerontological Nursing, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She has been teaching in gerontological nursing and policy and health care delivery system for 15 years and researched on long-term care for 12 years. She has extensive research experience funded by the National Research Council of Thailand, Health System Research Institution, Foundation of Thai Gerontology Research and Development Institute, International Labour Organization, UNESCAP, HelpAge International, and WHO. Ms. Sasat is also an

Associate President of the Thai Society of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine of Thailand and Secretary-Elect of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Asia-Ocenia region. She is an active member of a number of working groups on improved quality of life for older persons in Thailand.

Yasuyuki Sawada

Yasuyuki Sawada is Chief Economist and Director General of the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department of the Asian Development Bank. He is the chief spokesperson for ADB on economic and development trends, and leads the production and dissemination of ADB’s fl agship knowledge products, as well as ADB’s support for various regional cooperation fora such as ASEAN+3 and APEC. Before joining ADB, Mr. Sawada was Professor of Economics at the

University of Tokyo. He worked at the ADB Institute in Tokyo and consulted on various projects at the World Bank Group. He was visiting professor at Stanford University’s Stanford Center for International Development and adjunct professor of economics at Korea University. His key areas of research are macro- and micro-development economics, micro-econometrics, economics of disasters, and fi eld surveys and experiments. He obtained his Master’s degree in International Development Policy and PhD in Economics from Stanford University.

Catherine Mary Schooling

Catherine Mary Schooling is Associate Professor and Cluster Leader (Non-communicable Diseases in Global Health) in the School of Public Health at the University of Hong Kong. She started a full-time academic career after a career in technology. Her research program focuses on using the evolutionary biology trade-off of growth and reproduction against the longevity to identify new intervention to promote healthy aging. She has contributed to policy in shaping the recent warnings on cardiovascular risk of testosterone from the Food and Drug Administration in the United States and

Health Canada. Ms. Schooling is associate editor of the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, member of the Social Science and Medicine Advisory Board, and co-author of more than 250 peer reviewed publications. She studied Pure Mathematics and Medieval History at the University of St. Andrews, United Kingdom, and received a PhD in Epidemiology from University College, London.

Ramola Naik Singru

Ramola Naik Singru is Senior Urban Development Specialist, Central and West Asia Urban Development and Water Division, Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank. She supports ADB’s urban sector development with a focus on integrated urban development for climate-resilient urban infrastructure and services for LivableCities covering the Central and West Asia region. She jointly led the formulation of ADB’s National Urban Assessments, and the Enabling Inclusive Cities Toolkit under ADB’s Urban Operational Plan 2012-2020 and the GrEEEn

Cities Initiative in Southeast Asia. She has authored several publications including GrEEEn Solutions for Livable Cities (2016). Prior to ADB, she worked in academe, private sector and as consultant to the UN-Habitat and Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA). Ms. Singru is interested in engaging with people to take ownership in shaping their cities and exploring the interface between urban development, inclusive growth, urban-rural linkages and regional integration. She received her Bachelor’s (Hons.) in Architecture from the University of Mumbai, India and MSc degree in City Design and Social Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom.

Yoko Suzuki

Yoko Suzuki is Director for Revitalizing Residential Area, Housing Department, Housing and Architecture Bureau, City of Yokohama. She is Director for building sustainable residential area models in Yokohama and engages in community management, including work with the private sector, residents, and universities. She began her career in public service in 1995, and fostered community integration in various fields. In 2008-09, she participated in formulating the new tax system

for keeping green space in Yokohama and led many projects related to creating an age-friendly, green environment.

Imelda Taganas

Imelda Taganas is Executive Director, Qualifications and Standards Office of TESDA, the office-in-charge of development of competency standards/training regulations and competency assessment tools in accordance with the requirements of the industry. She is also Director of the Philippines-Korea Human Resource Development Institute and National Language Skills Institute. Prior to TESDA, Ms. Taganas was involved in the project implementation and research of the TESDA Women’s Center, a JICA grand-aid project to mainstream gender and development in TVET. She

has also worked in the private sector for seven years in foundry operation and supply chain inventory management, production planning, and control and logistics. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering at the Mapua Institute of Technology. She has a Masters in Entrepreneurship for Social Development at the Asian Institute of Management and Masters in Business Administration at the Philippine Christian University.

Eiji Tajika

Eiji Tajika is Professor Emeritus of Hitotsubashi University and Professor at the Department of Economics of Seijo University. His major fields of interest are public policy, theory and applications of taxation, health and long-term care, and fiscal decentralization. He is currently a member of the Tax Advisory Council of the Prime Minister’s Office and Public Finance Council of the Ministry of Finance, Japan. He has contributed to the tax policies of Viet Nam through consultations with its Ministry of Finance. Mr. Tajika has not only contributed extensively to the journals

of public finance but also published a series of books on the formation of tax policies in Japan. He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Sakiko Tanaka

Sakiko Tanaka is Senior Social Sector Specialist at Southeast Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank. She is a focal officer for Viet Nam social sector portfolio and works on projects in secondary education, TVET, and health. She previously worked for ADB’s Economic Research Department as Senior Economist on employment diagnostics in collaboration with International Labour Organization in Cambodia, Fiji, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. Ms. Tanaka has also worked

at ADB’s Pacific Department as Social Development Specialist dealing with social sector projects. She completed her PhD in Social Policy from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Columbia University, United States.

Yohei Takahashi

Yohei Takahashi is Deputy Director of the General Affairs Division and Office for Dementia Policy, Health and Welfare Bureau for the Elderly of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Japan. He focuses on policymaking and works on the long-term care insurance system of Japan. Mr. Takahashi is also engaged in conducting dementia policy and measures international collaboration to promote dementia-friendly communities in a global context.

Thuy Bich Tran

Thuy Bich Tran is country director of HelpAge International in Viet Nam. She has 20 years of development work and 10 years in the area of aging and community-based care. She is one of the founders of a community based care model in Viet Nam (Intergenerational Self Help Club) which provides community-based appropriate, comprehensive, and affordable services for older people in Viet Nam. From an internationally funded project model, it has now become the national model which

will be replicated widely by the government in collaboration with the Association of the Elderly. Ms. Tran and her team in Viet Nam are providing technical support for both national and local partners in replicating this model. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management.

Karina Veal

Karina Veal is Senior Education Specialist at the Asian Development Bank. As part of the Education Secretariat, she provides strategic and technical advice across the Bank’s growing education sector operations which aim to support developing countries meet their priorities for skills development. She is committed to bringing the world’s best innovation solutions and ideas that matter to narrow the ‘education divide’ across Asia and the Pacific. Before joining ADB in 2012, Ms. Veal operated

an independent consultancy practice in education for development, working with UN and bilateral agencies. She also held public policy leadership and advisory roles.

Wendy Walker

Wendy Walker is Technical Advisor for the Social Development Thematic Group at the Asian Development Bank. She is the team leader for the regional technical assistance program on Strengthening Capacity for Developing Member Countries in Elderly Care and ADB’s first loans in People’s Republic of China on developing elderly care systems. Previously, she was team leader for social protection and TVET loans and TAs in PRC and Mongolia. As Technical Advisor, she leads the social development

thematic group at ADB in operations and knowledge work. Prior to ADB, Ms. Walker worked with the World Bank and other institutions on social development and social protection programs. She has an M.Phil from Oxford University and a PhD from Johns Hopkins University.

Meredith Wyse

Meredith Wyse is Head of Programs, HelpAge International, East Asia/Pacific region in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She has worked in Asia for more than a decade with HelpAge International, an organization that aims to help older people claim their rights, challenge discrimination, and overcome poverty. Her areas of specialization include social protection, community development, and long-term care for older persons. Ms. Wyse recently worked with ADB to develop training programs on the development of comprehensive policies and programs on long-term care. She is co-

team leader for the ADB regional technical assistance project on Strengthening Developing Member Countries’ Capacity in Elderly Care.

Belinda Yuen

Belinda Yuen is Professorial Fellow and Research Director with the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovation Cities, Singapore University of Technology and Design. She heads the Lee Li Ming Program in Aging Urbanism. Her research focuses on spatial planning, urban policy analysis, and liveable and sustainable cities. She is interested in understanding the interactions between the urban built environment and its social, cultural, and environmental dynamics. Ms. Yuen served on various Singapore urban planning committees, international advisory committees, and editorial board

of international scholarly journals. She has an MA in Town and Regional Planning, University of Sheffield, UK and a PhD in Environmental Planning from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Dian Yuliasri

Dian Yuliasri is a Dementia Care Skill Trainer at Alzheimer’s Disease International, Indonesia. She started her career as a radio journalist and announcer in 1991 and stayed in the broadcasting industry for 15 years. Her focus is on NGO work after her fellowship on HIV/AIDS Journalism Training in 2000. Since joining Alzheimer’s Indonesia as a volunteer in 2013, she received $100,000 funding from Grand Challenges Canada for creating awareness of Alzheimer’s in Indonesia. She authored the first book about a person living with Alzheimer’s and the journey of caregivers in

the country. Ms. Yuliasri holds a graduate degree in Criminology from the University of Indonesia.
