Department of Physics is a i tegral part of “.B.R. Go er e t Wo e ’s Auto o ous College, a more than a half-century old premier institution of southern Odisha. Though not
very old, this department flourished within a short period and now is considered to be one of
the leading departments of this college with excellent academic achievements and
developing infrastructural facilities
1. The Department
Established in the year 1992, Department of Physics is an integral constituent of SBR
Govt. Autonomous Wo e ’s College, Berhampur and imparting degree courses to the girl
students. The department is devoted to teaching by the experienced faculty members. Extra
care is taken to pay individual attention to the students in their laboratory work and tutorial
sessions. Seminars and problem sessions are encouraged to develop innovative and
analytical approach to physics learning. The Computer application centre of college is
associated with our department for learning soft skill, C, C++, SCILAB.

only the students are assessed, the feedback from students about teachers is also acted
upon effectively for improving quality of teaching. Students and teachers are actively
observing Ganesh and Saraswati Puja. Also picnics are arranged for recreation.
At present this department is proud of having dedicated teachers and sincere non-
gazetted staff.
It is hoped that this century-old department will move forward in the proper
direction, and it will be a center of excellence at the national level in the near future by
receiving more incentives and developing better infrastructure.
