Professional Technician Society (PTS) Requirements

The Professional Technician Society Portal works best with a desktop or laptop computer capable of

displaying 32 bit color at minimum resolution of 1024 pixels by 768 pixels. If you view the site in 800

To check what version of Internet Explorer you are using, on your browser go to Help-> About Internet

Explorer.

Before making any changes to your Internet Options under the Tools setting for Internet Explorer, start

with a clean slate by performing the following actions:

1. Select ‘Tools’ from the top menu

2. Choose ‘Internet Options’

3. Click on the “Advanced” Tab

4. Click on the “Restore advanced settings” button in the middle of the page.

Note: This will restore all advanced settings back to the ‘default’ level.

5. Close out all windows and your browser. (This step is very important).

6. Open Internet Explorer again and follow the browser setup instructions again.

JavaScript Enabled

The Professional Technician Society Portal requires JavaScript to be enabled in your browser. To do so

please follow the instructions below:

Internet Explorer

1. Select ‘Tools’ from the top menu

2. Choose ‘Internet Options’

3. Click on the ‘Security’ tab

4. Click on ‘Custom Level’

5. Scroll down until you see a section labeled ‘Scripting’

6. Under ‘Active Scripting’, select ‘Enable’ and click OK

Tabs

The Professional Technician Society Portal utilizes the tabs in your browser.

1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu

2. Choose 'Internet Options'

3. Click on the 'Settings' button under Tabs

Ensure the 'Always open pop-ups in new window' option is selected.

Trusted Site

The Professional Technician Society Portal requires that you place the dealer connection domain in your

trusted sites to enable functionality.

4. Select 'Tools' from the top menu

5. Choose 'Internet Options'

6. Click on the 'Security' tab

7. Click on 'Trusted Sites', then click on the 'Sites' button

8. Once the dialog comes up uncheck 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone'.

9. Type http://*.dealerconnection.com and click the 'Add' Button. Then click the 'Close' button.

10. Click the 'Custom Level' button, this will bring up the Security Settings dialog for the Trusted

Sites Zone. Verify that the title says "Trusted Sites Zone"

11. Scroll down to Miscellaneous -> Access data sources across domains and check 'Enable'.

12. Scroll down to 'Navigate windows and frames across different domains' and click 'Enable'.

13. Scroll down to 'Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone' and

check 'Enable'.
