When beginning any groom, remember to consider the pet’s anatomy and determine the finished cut length of hair; you can always take more hair off, but you can’t put hair back on. Begin clipping in a slow but steady movement, move along the back in the direction of the hair growth of the coat. On most pet coats, it will go from back of the head, down the tail, and down each leg. The hair typically grows backwards on the chest and backs of each leg.

Remove large hair fragments from the blade with a blade brush. Clean and disinfect blades by using Cool Care Plus®. Use the 5-point oiling system to lubricate your clipper: with the blade teeth pointing down, apply 3 drops across the teeth of the blade and 1 drop on each back rail.

If you notice a decrease in performance after cleaning and oiling your blade, replace the blade to maintain peak cutting performance.
