5 Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in your virtue knowledge; 6 and in your knowledge self-control… 9 For he that lacketh these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. (2 Pet. 1:5-9)

II. Follow The Example Of Christ

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22"Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth"; 23who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously. (1 Pet. 2:21-23)

holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; 16lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. (Heb. 12:14-16)

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. (Pr. 4:23)

Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. (Mt. 12:34-37)

Conclusion

MATTHEW 514 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an

hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so

shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

We live in a profane society, but that allows us an opportunity

to let the light of Christ shine.
