AIRWAYAirways are usually the initial focus in the resuscitation of a critically ill or injured patient, but sometimes conventional endotracheal intubation can be difficult or even impossible in individuals with a challenging anatomy or serious trauma. For these situations, Cook has developed a variety of emergency devices to help you obtain airway access.
BREATHINGOften the inability to maintain proper airway exchange may be a direct result of abnormal chest wall dynamics, such as a pneumothorax. Cook offers an extensive line of drainage catheters for removing both air and fluid from the pleural space. Available in straight and pigtail designs, these catheters are placed with either the Seldinger technique or by direct puncture.
CIRCULATIONCorrecting circulation problems is another crucial step in emergency care, as the rapid replacement of fluid volume is imperative in the treatment of shock. Cook’s intraosseous infusion needles can be used to infuse drugs or fluids when intravenous access is not possible.
Cook Medical offers a comprehensive selection of products for emergency medicine to aid in the resuscitation and treatment of your patients. Our devices have been engineered to provide you with minimally invasive solutions for the numerous issues critically ill or injured patients face, including airway obstruction, difficulty breathing, and loss of fluid.

Our removable Rapi-Fit Adapters can be used with 15 mm or Luer lock connectors. The adapters allow our airway catheters to be attached to ventilation devices to provide oxygenation during intubation or airway exchange procedures, if necessary.
A Rapi-Fit Adapter is included with select intubation and airway exchange products.
Luer lock connector
To attachPosition the adapter on the catheter. Push the white collar forward and lock the adapter into position.
To removePull the white collar back to release and remove the adapter from the catheter.

Frova Intubating IntroducerIntended to facilitate endotracheal intubation in patients where the visualization of the glottis is inadequate.
Features and benefits
• The blunt, angled tip helps you properly place the introducer beyond the vocal cords and into the trachea, minimizing trauma to internal structures.
• The optional stiffening cannula adds rigidity to the proximal and middle sections of the catheter, while the distal portion remains flexible.
• The lumen and distal sideports are designed to deliver oxygen.
• The centimeter marks facilitate accurate alignment with endotracheal tubes.
• The removable Rapi-Fit Adapter permits oxygen delivery, if necessary.
