Cameras are the first tool we go to when planning our shoots but it is often the lenses used that can really determine the look and style of a film. Certain projects require specific lenses to get the shots in the bag, whereas more creative projects look to lenses to define an artistic style.

Pro Motion has invested heavily in lenses so as to have a wide range of stock for all occasions. We stock high quality prime glass, from top-of-the range Cooke S4/is and ARRI Ultra Primes, to budget Zeiss ZF and Canon EF options. It is vital for us to stock multiple sets of our lenses along with additional specialist lenses so that we can provide everything our clients need in-house. We also stock a wide range of zoom lenses, from the entire Canon L Series EF range to the latest full Angenieux Style PL range. The Canon 17-120mm CN-7 PL zoom has been one of the most popular lenses in 2015, with this trend set to continue through 2016.

Lenses can seem expensive to purchase and to hire, but there is no doubt that manufacturing high-end PL glass is an art form all of its own, with lenses hand crafted in small factories to order. It is this skill in creating unique characteristics in each set of lenses that we invest in.

Pro Motion’s specialist training department has been running for the past two years, although we’ve been providing bespoke training to our clients since we first opened our doors in 2005.

Training and education within the industry is something we are passionate about. We have a wealth of experience and technical knowledge to pass on to our clients through both structured training and informal advice. Pro Motion LIVE is an expansion of our already well-established multi-camera shoots department.

We understand that you shouldn’t be restricted in the choice of camera you use for multi-cam work, so we have been working hard at developing hardware solutions to ensure that our LIVE service caters for all. Whether you want to shoot with FS7s, AMIRAs, C300s or anything in between, with our compact and robust setup, we can install a flyaway gallery into any venue and rig anything up to 10 camera positions.

We can also supply ISO record and an Instant Edit option - full ISO record of each channel and the ability to live cut your show - ideal for quick turnaround deadlines.

We’re incredibly excited to announce that 2016 will see our fully equipped PPU truck arrive!
