STRIKER HELMETS OVERVIEW

Compliance at Type IIIA requires that new and unworn armor samples protect against .357 SIG FMJ Flat Nose (FN) bullets with a specified mass of 8.1 g (125 gr) and a veloc-ity of 448 m/s ± 9.1 m/s (1470 ft/s ± 30 ft/s) and with .44 Magnum Semi Jacketed Hollow Point (SJHP) bullets with a specified mass of 15.6 g (240 gr) and a velocity of 436 m/s ± 9.1 m/s (1430 ft/s ± 30 ft/s). Compliance at Type IIIA also requires that conditioned armor samples protect against .357 SIG FMJ FN bullets with a specified mass of 8.1 g (125 gr) and a velocity of 430 m/s ± 9.1 m/s (1410 ft/s ± 30 ft/s) and with .44 Magnum SJHP bullets with a specified mass of 15.6 g (240 gr) and a velocity of 408 m/s ± 9.1 m/s (1340 ft/s ± 30 ft/s).

HighCom offers a wide range of Helmet styles, shapes, and configurations for use by Military and Law Enforcement throughout the world. Our helmets are designed to be high performing while ensuring a lightweight solution for our customers. Because our helmets are designed and manufactured using US Mil Spec standards and materials from leading companies like DuPont, Hon-eywell, and DSM, we are able to warranty and ensure a long life of consistent and reliable use for our customers deploying in all combat and tactical situations.

We test our helmets against many standards such as in accordance with NIJ, Mil-Std, ASTM, CRASH, including critical impact and trauma standards to ensure proper end results to protect our operators no matter what the deployment purpose. Ballistic capa-bility of our helmets includes independent tests according to the NIJ 0106.01 standard. We also perform testing against V50 and special threats and can work with specific demands of our customer requirements to protect against other domestic and interna-tional or custom designed threat assessments when requested.

HighCom has and will continue to test specific models of ballistic helmets against the HPW-TP-0401B standard which helps to better measure and determine the back face trauma and performance of ballistic shells against var-ious threats related to the NIJ 0106.01 standard Level IIIA.

HighCom helmets are tested according to the Stanag 2920 / Mil-Std 662f which is used as the Protection Ballistic Limit (PBL) V50 among the most elegant performance metrics for armor systems. The V50 is intended to define the veloci-ty at which 50% of projectiles (of identical material type, hardness, strength, mass and geometry) will perforate an armor system, and 50% will be defeated by the armor. A methodology and the threats for the estimation of V50 velocity is defined in MIL-STD-662F.

STRIKER SERIES HIGHCOM HELMET ACCESSORIES

HighCom’s advanced helmet configuration platform allows for the configuration of a unique and versatile rail attachment system which allows for the fast and effective attachment of secure headborne accessories such as audio, video, and lighting systems.

HighCom rail attachment is offered as an upgrade across it’s Striker line of advanced combat helmet systems and can be packaged with the low profile secure attachment shroud for NVG’s on the front mount of helmet platforms.

RAILS

HighCom's universal compatible shroud mount provides a secure attachment on the front of it's advanced combat helmet system for the addition of most NVGs, vid-eo, and illumination equipment. The multi point attachment provides a unique and powerful platform for critical equipment and mission ready deployment.

SHROUD

HighCom’ bungees provided as optional with the rails and shroud system provide

the needed support and stabilization for the NVG mount of choice.

BUNGEES

HighCom’s Velcro mount attachment is designed for incorporation when a rails and shroud application is required for allowing the addition of additional critical mission equipment including illumination accessories, communication, counterweights, and identification placards.

VELCRO

+ Team Wendy’s REVOLVE™ Helmet Liner is a 3-piece impact mitigating system designed to be a replacement liner for most ballistic shells.

+ REVOLVE™ meets and exceeds the latest ACH blunt impact requirements (AR/PD 10-02 Rev A, 08 May 2012).

+ Multiple impacts across all temperatures (14°F to 130°F) result in average head acceleration under 100G @ 10ft/sec, and under 180G @ 14ft/sec

The EPIC Air™ Combat Helmet Liner System takes protection to a whole new level. The design incorporates three main pads (front, rear and crown) for impact protection, an assortment of ergonomically designed comfort pads, and patent-pending Air Channeling™ technology to keep you cooler. EPIC Air™ also comes in a variety of cuts and sizes to fit any style of ground combat helmet and is compatible with all styles of communications headsets. The sizing for EPIC Air™ depends on your helmet cut.

REVOLVE™ HELMET LINER SYSTEM

The ¾-inch ZAP™ NSN System is the standard system authorized for all ground combat helmets. The set includes seven ZAP™ pads – 1 circular crown pad (NSN 8470-01-546-9415), 2 trapezoid pads (NSN 8470-01-546-9407), 4 oblong pads (NSN 8470-01-546-9356) – as well as an illustrated instruction manual. Velcro® hook disks not included. Also available in 1-inch pads.

EPIC™ (Enhanced Protection, Individual Comfort) consists of a one-piece protective impact liner, and 22 adjustable comfort pads provided in four shapes (oblong, trapezoid, tapered trapezoid, and triangle) and two thicknesses (3/16-inch “thin” and 3/8-inch “thick”). The comfort pad set also includes four Ultra Grip™ pads for added stability and two sweat bands for moisture absorption. EPIC™’s design offers a significant increase in protection at high-G impacts without adversely affecting weight or heat dissipation. EPIC™ employs the same Zorbium® foam proven through years of service in Team Wendy’s standard ZAP™ products and fits all standard ground combat helmets. The ZAP™ Airborne Pad is designed to be worn in addition to other ZAP™ sets and is placed at the nape of the helmet during airborne operations. The ZAP™ Airborne Pad weighs less than 3/4 of an ounce and provides significant additional impact protection to the vulner-able nape area of the skull by reducing peak G’s experienced during high-speed impacts. The ZAP™ Airborne Pad includes an illustrated instruction manual.

ZORBIUM® ACTION PAD (ZAP™) SOF SYSTEM

The new Team Wendy H-back chinstrap is our lightest retention offering, weighing below 100g (3.5oz) including ballistic mounting hardware. This system truly adheres to the KISS principle, with no unnecessary components, adjustments, or loose ends - while providing an extremely high level of comfort and stability The H-back utilizes our cam-lock sliders which allow for one handed adjustment and no-slip, positive-locking engagement.

CAM-BUCKLE H-BACK

The first stand-alone chinstrap to feature dial-adjustable fit. The Boa® Closure System pro-vides the ultimate in stability, adjustment and fit while remaining lightweight and dura-ble. Taking it one step further, the retention system is compatible with a wide variety of helmet liner systems as well as most common ballistic shell styles.

CAM FIT™ RETENTION SYSTEM


The Team Wendy Standard 4-point Chinstrap incorporates a soft anti-microbial fabric in the chin cup and the nape pad to prevent chafing and skin irritation. Attachment points are nylon reinforced and compatible with current standard issue ACH, LWH, and ECH hardware, as well as most other common tactical helmets. The chinstrap is constructed using 5/8-inch webbing with anti-chafe, anti-microbial sleeves, and meets all ACH, LWH, and ECH retention test performance requirements.
