including fusion splicing, direct termination, pre-terminated cables, MTP

connectivity and pre-terminated copper cabling.

They are precision made using high quality materials and have a powder coat

finish to ensure long term usage and reliability. All enclosures can be packaged

up as a kit to include pigtails, cassettes, couplers, cable management trays and

much, much more.

Custom made enclosures and cabinets can be manufactured to suit a particular

application. These applications include outside plant, mining and military, road

and rail, ship to shore to name a few.

AFC carry stock in our vast branch office network to minimise delivery times

and provide local advice and customer service.

Sliding Enclosures

AFC has a comprehensive range of rack mounted sliding enclosures available in

1RU, 2RU and 3RU. All AFC sliding enclosures use high quality, double extended

rails to increase the internal accessibility during fibre termination or when

maintenance is required.

These enclosures allow for several types of front panels, from the standard

modular adapter panels up to the high density panels for larger fibre counts.

They cover a range of styles which allows the incoming cable to move or

remain fixed when the tray is opened. This is important, particularly where there

is limited cable movement allowed within the rack.

AFC enclosures allow either single cable or multiple cables entry points

depending on the customer needs and allow all types of cable including

distribution, breakout, loose tube and pre-terminated.

All styles have adjustable mounting brackets for recessing the front panel from

the rails which is a necessity where there is limited space to the front door of

the rack. There is also an optional front cable tray for patchcord management.

Sliding

The Modular Sliding (MOD-S) enclosure allows the incoming cable to be

mounted to the tray and move freely when the tray is opened.

These enclosures are well suited for splicing and for direct terminations. They

have ‘U-shaped’ gland openings to allow for pre-terminated cable assemblies.

Also available in 200mm deep for shallow racks.

Static Sliding

The Modular Static Sliding (MOD-SS) enclosure allows the incoming cable to

remain fixed to the rear of the enclosure even when the tray is opened.

These enclosures are well suited for splicing and for direct terminations.

Cables are broken out and mounted to the rear of the enclosure. The fibre

tubes are then fed through an internal conduit and managed within the tray.

Internal Patching

Internal Patching enclosures were developed to provide a higher level of

protection against accidental disconnection of fibre circuits. They contain a

unique patchcord management linkage system that allows exiting patchcords

to be routed through the rear of the enclosure. This is extremely useful when

there is limited space within a rack for front patching. Suitable for splicing up to

24 SC terminations.

Fixed Enclosures

We offer a range of fixed rack mounted enclosures, available in 1RU, 2RU

and 3RU sizes. These enclosures allow for several types of front panels from

the standard modular adapter panels up to the high density panels for larger

fibre counts.

There are either single or multiple cable entry points that will accept all types of

cable types including distribution, breakout, loose tube and pre-terminated.

They have adjustable mounting brackets for recessing the front panel from the

rails which is a necessity where there is limited distance to the front door of

the rack.

There are three styles of fixed enclosures. The 1RU Modular fixed (MOD-F)

which is ideal for for splicing and housing pre-terminated cables. The Modular

Wingback (MOD-WB) is the ideal choice when using pre-terminated cables,

including MTP backbone cables. The tray style (MOD-T) is a small form factor

design perfectly suited if space is a concern.

MTP Enclosures

AFC offers a comprehensive range of both rack and wall enclosures to suit our

MTP pre-terminated cabling system.

These enclosures are specifically designed to house and support MTP cassettes

while managing both incoming MTP cables and outgoing LC or SC patchleads.

They are manufactured in both sliding and fixed variants, standard or high

density and designed to consume minimal rack space in high density, real estate

hungry environments.

AFC’s 2 or 4 wide aperture design allows for logical management of A and B

type networks or fabrics with no compromise in redundancy management.

Our MTP enclosure design also allows for the integration of other

pre-terminated fibre and copper cabling media.

For further information on AFC’s range of MTP enclosures, please request our

Mixed Media Platform

AFC’s Mixed Media Platform facilitates the integration

of varying network components with a range

of universal footprint, modular, pre-configured

cassettes and panels matched to a high density 1RU

sliding enclosure.

By combining a range of fibre and C6/C6A adapter

panels, Fibre Passive Devices and MTP cassettes, AFC’s

Mixed Media Platform provides a high level of flexibility

during network design, deployment and maintenance.

The Front mounted cable tray provides patchcord

protection and superior network path labelling.

• Pre-loaded fibre, C6 and C6A panels minimise installation time frames

• Preconfigured modular MTP and FPD cassettes allow for future expansion

• Sliding enclosure design allows greater access during installation and maintenance

Loaded Enclosures

At AFC we believe in making life easier for our customers. With this in mind

we can supply any type of rack, wall or DIN mounted enclosure in kit form.

This makes it much simpler to order, as all the parts are put together within

the enclosure to create a single product part number.

Loaded enclosures can be assembled with any combination of pigtails,

adapters, panels, cassettes or cable management. Just another reason why

AFC is the leader in fibre optic technology.

Patchcord Management

AFC has a range of patchcord storage and

management trays to keep internal cabling neat

and tidy within a communications rack. The

cable trays mount to all AFC enclosures or to

any 19’’ rail and offer excellent support to

outgoing patchcords.

The 1RU sliding storage trays have front

and rear entries and are used for storing

excess length on your patchcords.

There are optional fibre clips available

to separate cable bundles within

an enclosure and improve cable

management.

Accessories

Interface Kits

AFC’s range of Interface Kits were developed to make it easier to store and

manage incoming loose tube cables into a communications rack.

The flexible conduits house the inner fibre tubes and store the cable in the roof or

floor space or even tied to the rails.

The multiple cable kit allows up to 4 cables to be fitted to a single enclosure and

the multiple enclosure kit allows a single cable to be split to up to 4 enclosures.

Rackmate

The ‘Rackmate’ sliding shelf was developed as an aid for fibre technicians when

working inside a communications rack. It allows the technician to safely store a

fusion splicer or other test equipment on the rails, without the need for screws

or tooling. This is a unique product to AFC and is not available anywhere else in

the market.

It is fully extendable and includes safety latches to prevent accidental removal.

Splice Cassettes

The AFC splice cassettes were designed with ease of installation as our overriding

feature. They offer excellent protection for incoming and outgoing fibres within

an enclosure and suit all rack and wall mounted enclosures. They are supplied

with splice protectors and mounting screws.

They incorporate many features including fibre storage, fibre re-direction, fibre

retention clamps, high density splice combs and unused fibre storage.

Patchcord Covers and Labelling Templates

AFC’s range of patchcord covers were developed to protect patchcords and help

to minimise the ingress of dust. They are available in several sizes and can be used

on the cable and storage trays.

Our labelling templates, with accompanying wiring document, were developed to

simulate the front of an enclosure, to help identify patching circuits.
