DISPOSABLE PARTICULATE RESPIRATOR AND SURGICAL MASK

For years, disposable respirators have been constructed with

a variety of polyester fibers. The ONE-Fit™ Healthcare respirators

are constructed with electrostatic, non-woven; melt blown

polypropylene filtering media, fiber that ensures 95% filtration

efficiency against non-oil airborne particles.

While there have been advances with disposable respirators, the

ONE-Fit Healthcare N95 molded cup and flat fold respirators utilize

advanced technology in their proprietary filtering media to create an

improved crush resistance shell for the molded cup style respirator,

and a light weight thin film layer in the flat fold version. These

features make the ONE-Fit Healthcare products an excellent choice

for hospitals, government, pandemic preparedness, and civilians use.

N95 Respirator Certification TestNIOSH required test for N95 respirators that measuresfilter efficiency and penetration of a 0.3 µm sodium chlorideparticle aerosolized at a flow rate of 85 liters per minute at 95% filtration efficiency.

ASTM F1862 Fluid Resistance TestFluid Resistance is defined as the ability of a facemask’smaterial construction to minimize fluid traveling through thematerial and potentially coming into contact with the user ofthe facemask. The test simulates the fluid splash resistance of a facemask under conditions similar to actual use. The masksare evaluated at three pressures, 80, 120, and 160. The higherthe pressure at which a mask passes, the greater the fluidsplash resistance.

Particulate Filtration Efficiency (PFE)Measures the percent efficiency at which a facemask respiratorfilters particulate matter passing through; particles range insize from 0.1 to one micron/micrometer, µm.

Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE)Measures the filtration efficiency by percent using viable (live)bacterial cells that vary in size from one to five microns(micrometer, µm).

Viral Filtration Efficiency (VFE)Measures the filtration efficiency by percent using the phiX174 bacteriophage as a challenge organism, which is one of the smallest known viruses at 27 nm (0.027µ) in size, has no envelope, and has icosahedral morphology.

Breathability/Differential Pressure (▲▲P) ‘Delta P’Measures the difference of air pressure of the inside of themask and the outside of the mask; measures the pressure dropacross the facemask and is expressed in mm air/cm2. It is anindication of the effort required to breath through the mask.

Respiratory Protection StandardsUse of respirators in the workplace is regulated by OSHARespiratory Protection Standards 29 CFR 1910.134. Thisrequires an appropriate respirator program be established,which includes a written program, employee training,respirator fit testing, medical monitoring and programdocumentation and maintenance. OSHA requires that allrespirators be properly fit tested using a quantitative orqualitative fit test when initially assigned to a user, andperiodically thereafter. Respiratory protection standards are available from your Sperian respiratory representative.

Use Instructions1. Failure to follow all instructions and limitations concerning the use of the respirator and/or failure to wear the respiratorfor the whole duration of exposure to contaminants can seriously reduce the performance characteristicsof the respirator and lead to illness, injury or death.

2. Before use, the wearer must first be trained by the employer in the correct use of the respirator in accordance withapplicable safety and health standards.

3. OSHA standards including 29CFR1910.134(e)(5), (f) and CSA standard Z94.4-93 require that the wearer be fit-tested.4. Leave the contaminated area if breathing becomes difficult or if the respirator becomes damaged.5. Discard the respirator and replace with a new one if:• excessive clogging of the respirator causes breathing difficulty.• the respirator becomes damaged.• the respirator becomes contaminated with blood or bodily fluids

6. Discard the respirator after every use when used for surgical procedures.7. DO NOT use the respirator with beards or other facial hair that interferes with direct contact between the face and the edge ofthe respirator, or any other conditions that may prevent a good face-seal.

DescriptionThe Sperian ONE-Fit HC-NB295F particle respirator and surgical mask is a class N95 disposable mask designed to provide filterefficiency of 95% or greater against particulate aerosols free of oil. The respirator provides greater than 99% Bacterial FiltrationEfficiency (BFE) against micro-organisms generated by a wearer, and meets CDC guidelines for M. tuberculosis exposure control.It can fit a wide range of face sizes, is fluid resistant and suitable for surgical environments.

NOTE: Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) tested in accordance with MILM36954C, ASTM F2101. Fluid resistance conforms toASTM F1862, 160 mmHg.

Intended UseThe Sperian ONE-Fit HC-NB295F Healthcare Particulate Respirator and Surgical Mask is a single use NIOSH approved N95Respirator intended for use by healthcare personnel during medical/surgical procedures to protect both the wearer and the patientby protecting the wearer against the spatter of blood and other potentially infectious materials and reducing the transfer ofmicroorganisms and other airborne particulate matter. The Sperian ONE-Fit also meets the CDC guidelines for TB exposure controlwithin healthcare facilities and is intended for use as an isolation mask.

How to Don the RespiratorFollow these instructions each time respirator is worn

Pull open the top and bottomedges of the respirator to fullyopen. Grip head strap oneither side of the slit inmiddle of strap and pullapart to create two separatehead straps.

Bend the nose wire into aslight curve so that therespirator forms a cup.

Position the bottom edge ofthe respirator under the chinand bring the two head strapsover the head.

Position the lower head straparound the back of the neck.Position the top head strapacross the crown of the head.

Mold the nose area to theshape of the face, running thefingertips of both hands fromthe top of the nose-piecedown both sides whilepressing inward. Always useboth hands.

Perform a fit check beforeusing the respirator.

WarningThis respirator helpsprotect against certaincontaminants. It may noteliminate the risk ofcontracting disease orinfection. Misuse mayresult in sickness or death.

Doble el alambre de la partede la nariz de forma que securve un poco para darle ala mascarilla la forma deuna taza.

Coloque el borde inferior dela mascarilla debajo de labarbilla y pase las cintasde sujeción por encima dela cabeza.

Coloque la cinta inferioralrededor del cuello.Coloque la cinta superiorsobre la coronilla.

Para dar forma al área de lanariz, deslice las yemas de losdedos de ambas manos por laparte superior de la piezapara la nariz, a ambos ladosde la nariz, presionando haciaadentro al mismo tiempo.Utilice siempre ambas manos.

Antes de utilizar el respirador,realice una comprobación delajuste.
