Use D-650 over structurally sound dry concrete (on, above, or below grade), APA underlayment grade plywood, and properly prepared well bonded VCT flooring. P erformance Characteristics: • Long residual tack • Fast drying Suggested Uses: D-650 is recommended for installing VCT including those manufactured by: Armstrong ® , Azrock ® , Congoleum ® , Mannington ® , and Tarkett ® . Directions for Use: Read and understand data sheet completely before beginning installation. Follow the industry standards and recommendations for floor covering installation. Surface P reparation: All subfloors must be level, firm, dry, smooth, and free of dust, dirt, wax, paint and foreign material. Roughen glossy surfaces or flooring with urethane wear layers. Concrete floors must be free of excessive moisture and alkalinity. Application: Apply adhesive with the recommended notched trowel held at a 45˚ angle. As D-650 dries, it will become clear and tacky. Apply the tile after the adhesive looks clear and feels tacky but will not transfer to the finger when lightly touched; press the tile firmly and evenly into position. D-650 is a pressure sensitive adhesive when dry; allowing for pattern matching and tile adjustment for up to 12 hours. Roll the floor as directed by the flooring manufacturer. For best results maintain adhesive, floor covering, and room at a stable temperature of at least 65˚F – 85˚F for 24 hours before and after installation and provide adequate ventilation for 72 hours or until residual odors cannot be detected. Curing: Open Time: up to 24 hours Set Time: 30-60 minutes Clean Up & Storage: Remove wet adhesive from VCT tile and tools with soapy water. Use mineral spirits to remove dried adhesive. The container should be kept closed between spreading cycles and after use. The product should be stored in the original container in a cool, dry place. Limitations• This product is for interior installations only.• Do not use this product where excessive moisture and
alkalinity are present.• Do not sand existing resilient tile and sheet flooring, backing
or lining felt. These products may contain asbestos fibers thatare not readily identifiable.
• Restrict heavy traffic for a period of 24 hours after installation.• D-650 is not designed for use on pure vinyl backed sheet
goods, solid vinyl tile or open cell urethane backed carpeting;DURABOND D-640™ isrecommended.
• Do not use this product when the substrate temperature isbelow 65˚F or above 90˚F or when the relative humidityexceeds 65%.
• Due to the limitations of plywood as a substrate, it is notintended for use on applications subject to heavy commercialtraffic.
• VCT may only be installed over a maximum of one existinglayer of VCT.
• To avoid telegraphing when bonding over existing VCT, useDURABOND Webcrete™ 95 with D-L16, or Webcrete 98with water, as an emboss leveler prior to adhesive applicationand floor installation.
