Polymer Profile:

(1) Natural Rubber/NR : The oldest rubber available having outstanding resistance to tear,

abrasion, water oxidation, alcohol and ketones. Moderate resistance to acids, alkalis.

(2) Nitrile (NBR) : NBR is the general term for Acrylonitrile Butadine Rubber. Acrylonitrile content

better the resistance to fuel, oil and at the same time affection elasticity and compression set.

Temperature range : -30°C-110°C.

Chemical Resistance : Propane, Butane, Petroleum, Mineral oil, Grease, Diesel Fuel, Fuel oils –

HFA,HFB,HFC fluids, Dilute Acids, Alkali, Salt Solutions and Water.

(3) Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) : SBR previously known as ‘BUNA S’ was first produced as a

replacement of natural rubber.

Temperature range : -30°C-110°C.

Chemical Resistance : Water, Alcohol, Non-Mineral oil fluid, Silicon oil and grease, Weak Acids.

(4)Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) : HNBR compounds exhibits improved heat resistance to the

general NBR compounds. They also possess superior mechanical properties particularly high strength.

Temperature range : -40°C-130°C.

(5) Chloroprene Rubber (Neoprene) : Chloroprene popularly known as NEOPRENE Rubber exhibits

good ozone, aging, abrasion and fatigue resistance.

Temperature range : -40°C-130°C.

Chemical Resistance : Silicon oil and grease, water and its solvents, Refrigerants, Ammonia and

Carbon Dioxide ozone, weathering and aging.

(6) Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPDM): EPDM is a co-polymer Ethylene and Propylene and is

mostly used in brake systems having Glycol based fluids.

Temperature range : -40°C-120°C.

Chemical Resistance : Hot water and steam, Glycol based brake fluids, Organic and Inorganic Acids,

Phosphate, Ester based fluids, Soda, Potassium, Silicon oil and grease, ozone, aging and weather

resistance.

(7) Silicon : Silicon rubber has best cold flexibility, excellent heat resistance, good insulating

properties, good ozone, aging, weathering , animal & vegetable oil resistance as well being neutral in

its properties and moderate resistance to mineral oil.

Temperature range : -40°C-160°C.

(8) Viton (Fluro Carbon/FKM) : Viton has excellent resistance to high temperature, ozone,

oxygen, mineral oils, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and many chemicals. Also resistance to

grease, non flammable hydraulic fluids, weathering, aging, high vacuum, steam and alcohol.

Temperature range : 100°C-250°C.

(9) Polyurethane (PU) : Polyurethane have the highest wear resistance, tensile strength and

elasticity. They have high volume applications in seals for hydraulic cylinders.

Chemical Resistance : Ozone, aging, mineral oil, aliphatic hydrocarbons, water (up-to 50° C).

1. Rubber Gasket :

(a) Victaulic Coupling Gasket : We manufactured a variety of rubber gasket seal to

provide the option of grooved piping products for the widest

range of applications. To assure the maximum life for the

service intended, proper gasket selection and specification

in ordering is essential.

Material: EPDM recommended for water service within the

specified temperature range upto 80°C, Silicon recomemded for

dry heat, air without hydro carbons upto 170°C and certain

chemical services, NBR recommended for petroleum products ,

hydro carbons, air with oil vapors, vegetagle and mineral oils

within specified tempertaure upto 120°C.

(b) Dresser Coupling Gasket: This gasket well known as Mechanical Joint Gasket.Our wide

(d) Flange Gasket : Pipe flange gasket are used for improved joint

performance. They are considerd much more superior than the conventional ring or full-face

gaskets. Although pipe flange gaskets are usually used for all normal water and sewer service, they

are specially useful in demanding services like in very large diameter flanged piping . For specially

designed long-span installations, involving 2 or 3 more lenghts of pipe or with any underground

flanges, flange gaskets are of great help because they could be subjected to undesirable beam

loading.

These gasket are available in numerous standard materials in

various thickness and hardness options for various flange

sizes. Most materials are available starting at 1/16” thick for

class 150# class 300# class 400# class 600# class 900# class

(2)Rubber & PU Seals :

(a)Piston Seal : Piston Seals are used to seal pressurized

fluide or air between the piston and the bore in a hydraulic or

pneumatic cylinder.

Piston Seals are used in both reciprocating and linear

applications. We offer s a wide variety of piston seals for use

in both Single acting and Double acting systems.

Single Acting Seal : These seals are capable of sealing dynamic pressure from one side only, with

gravity or a spring returning the cylinder.

Single acting piston seals are U-Seals, Energised U-Seals, U-Cup Seals.

The most common material for single acting piston seals is PU(Polyurethane) but other available

materials include NBR, FKM and Neoprene.

Double Acting Seal : Double-acting piston seals are capable of sealing dynamic pressure from both

sides. They are symmetrical and their sealing funtions are indentical in both directions.

We offers a range of differing qualities and designs of double-acting piston seals.

Double-acting Piston Seals could use a thermoplastic elastomer or filled PTFE cap, energised by a

NBR O-Ring, in a composite or co-axial arrangement.

Fot the higer pressures, a T’ shaped NBR energiser is often used in combination with a sealing cap.

Hard, engineering plastic, anti-extrusion are then fitted.

IRI also stocks double-acting piston seals with wear rings.These generally have NBR or NBR/fabric-

sealing elements, thermoplastic elastomer support rings and Acetal(POM) bearings. These can

include one-piece and two piece piston seals.

One-piece Piston Seal: The seal stretches on and the Wear Rings are split. The seal widths will

then identify the particular seal type. The most common type is the DAS Seal.

Two-piece Piston: The piston is split so that the seal and the Wear Rings can be fitted. The Wear

Rings either snap onto the sealing element or are L-shaped. The seal widths will then identify the

particular style,

and operating conditions.

(b) Rod Seals : The Rod Seals often decides the overall performance of an entire hydraulic or

pneumatic cylinder. The Rod Seal has to meet the most demanding requirements and in additional

to normal wear and aging, a Rod Seal is directly affected by

changes on the rod surface such as temperature extremes.

Leakage through the Rod Seal is one of the most common

failures and therefore it is vitally important to choose correct Rod

Seal type and design to suit a particulars application.

Indian rubber Industry supplies a variety of Rod Seal for both

Hydraulic and Pneumatic cylinders, as well as Buffer Seal, Bask-

ups, and Custom rod seal.

(c) Wiper Seal : Wiper Seal are designed to keep the rod and cylinder clean and free from foreign

matter, such as dust, dirt and moisture. Wiper are used in

both linear and Dynamic Sealing application.

Our Wipers come in a wide variety of Metal-case snap-in

styles and as well we offer the option of Wipers that are

custom made

To suit their specific needs.

A Wiper is not a pressure sealing element. Instead, it avoid

the abrasive effects which result if contaminants reach the

sealing and rod bearing elements of a fluid power system.

Contaminants can cause significant damage to the rod,

cylinder wall, seals, valves and other components and may

lead to premature seal and components failure.

Particulars attention should be given to the selection of the wiper, to protect against such failure.

The following should be taken into consideration : 1) Groove Geometry – Snap-in vs Metal-case

styles, 2) Lip Geometry – Single lip, Straight, Bevelled or round Wiper lip designs. 3)

Environment – High-contaminated environment Wiper, Dust-exclusion Wipers, Low-friction

Wipers, Dry-rod operation Wipers, High temperature Wipers.

(d) U-Seal : We offer an extensive range of PU & Rubber U-Seals, primarily used for sealing

leakage of oil within the engine. Our fabricated PU & Rubber U-Seals find comprehensive

is used in form of set consisting of top and bottom rings. The numbers of V-rings in a set are

variable and depends upon the pressure to be sealed. These

seals can withstand a pressure up-to 10000Psi.

more chevron ring with a header and pressure ring.

(4)Rubber Ring :

(a) O-Ring : We are highly reckoned as one of the most

reliable manufacturer and supplier of a qualitative range of

NBR, Silicon, Viton(FKM), Neoprene, EPDM Rubber O-Ring that

is highly acknowledged across the nation by our clients. The

optimum

quality rubber and sophisticated technology is used in the

fabrication process that ensures prominent features like high

(b) Quad Ring : Quad Ring Seals are four lipped seal with a specially developed sealing profile

that actually provided twice the number of sealing surfaces as an O-Ring. The four lobed design not

only provides lower friction than an O-Ring, but also, due to

square cross section, its resist spiral twist. Quad Ring are

available are in a wide range of materials for both standard and

special applications as well as custom seals for unique

applications.

Advantage : (i) They mitigate twisting in the groove. Due to its squarish profile, quad rings avoid twisting in the groove which

normally results in spiral failure, (ii) With four sealing lips, a higher sealing efficiency can be gained with less clamping force

and less friction, (iii) Lubricant can form and be held between

two sealing lips which can improve start up, breakout friction and reduce wear, (iv) Hidden mould lines. Unlike an o’ring, quad ring mould lines (flashing) is within a depression between sealing lips and therefore do not contact with sealing surfaces. (c) Wear-Ring : The function of an hydraulic Wear Ring (or Guide ring) is to guide the piston and piston rod of an hydraulic cylinder, absorbing transverse forces. At the same time, the Wear Ring prevents metal-to-metal contact, optimizing the performance of the sealing system. IRI supplies hydraulic Wear Rings in different materials and specifications to suit a variety of industry applications. IRI can also custom-manufacture Wear Rings to suit. Wear Rings come pre-formed, or in strip form. IRI can supply the following Wear Ring materials:

Bronze / PTFE - This material is used in low to medium duty applications where there are limited radial forces. This material is available in strips (of filled PTFE) or pre-formed to size. The strip material can be cut to any length to fit any rod or bore size without losing its concentricity. Glass / Nylon - This material is used in medium to heavy duty applications and the Wear Rings are made of glass reinforced nylon. With physical properties equivalent to bronze, Wear Rings made of glass-reinforced Nylon are highly recommended because of their wear rate and non-scoring properties and their ability to ingest metal chips. The temperature range is -40 degrees to 110 degrees and glass-reinforced Wear Rings have high compressive and tensile strength. Fabric-reinforced Polyester Resin - This strip material is for heavy-duty applications where there are high radial forces. The use of woven fabric-reinforced polyester resin produces a dimensionally accurate rectangular strip which can be cut to any length. Low coefficient of friction and high compressive strength makes it an ideal bearing material and it is used in temperatures ranging from -40 degrees to 130 degrees. (d) Back-up Ring : A Back Up Ring is a ring of hard, extrusion resistant material such as high-durometer Nitrile, Nylon, or PTFE, which is designed to fit between an O-ring and an extrusion gap, to prevent the extrusion of the O-ring leading to O-ring failure. Extrusion failure is one of the most common types of O-ring failure. When the internal pressure of an application becomes too great, the O-ring will actually extrude into the clearance gap.

This extruded product will quickly be nibbled away causing a loss of material, and once sufficient material is lost, seal failure will quickly follow. There are three options to prevent this: 1) Reduce the clearances to lower the extrusion gap - This is the most expensive option.

2) A cheaper solution is to raise the durometer of the O-ring. Although, a higher-durometer O-ring offers superior extrusion resistance, it is often not a feasible solution due to either material

availability, or to the fact that harder durometer materials have limited low pressure sealability. 3)The last and best option is the addition of a Back Up Ring. While Back Up Rings are used in conjunction with O-rings in both static and dynamic sealing applications, the gland they fit in must be specially designed to fit both the O-ring and the Back Up.

(5) Coupling Bush : Our company specializes in offering

(9) Rubber Strips & Cord : We offer silicone/NBR//Neoprene/Natural rubber strips and cords to your exact

required size without any tooling charges. We produce cord sizes

from Ø 1.0mm up to Ø 65.00mm. Strip sizes can be produced up to

200mm wide. A huge range of grades can be offered including

Carbon loaded/Anti-static, Metal Detectable (for the food industry)

Low smoke /low toxic (mass transit use) Platinum silicone, and

General purpose, to name a few. (Generally orders are despatched

within 7-10 days of receipt).

(9) Seal Kits & Packing Kits : We offer wide range of hydraulic seal kits and packing kits, being equipped with

qualified engineers, these are developed by us as per the defined industrial standard using sophisticated

technology. We have a team of experienced analysts who test these on

parameters like speed of stroke, duty cycle of the equipment, temperature,

low friction, expected service life, leakage, system pressure and media to

ascertain their quality.
