Topester is a true multi-talent to fasten valve prosthesis in an ideal way

Topester is a finely woven non-absor-bable polyester suture with high tensile

strength and smooth handling features. Its surface structure allows optimal knot positioning while keeping the knots tight. Using a special silicone coating it ensures a low friction passage and eliminates practically the natural

capillary effect. Through its excellent handling features when fetching and handing the suture by the staff to the surgeon Topester allows for optimal surgery safety.

Properties, Absorption

Monofilament with high tensile strength and excellent handling properties. Monolac violet retains 7 days after implantation ca. 60% (natural ca. 50%) and after 14 days ca. 30% (natural ca. 20%) of its original tensile strength. Absorption is completed between 90 -120 days.

The thread is coated with an absorbable substance. This reduces the capillary effect. High tensile strength. 5 days after implantation approximately 60% of its original tensile strength remains. All of the original tensile strength is lost by appr. 12 to 14 days post impl. Complete material absorption 30-40 days.

Closure of skin, particularly in pediatric surgery, gynecology (e.g. episiotomies), ophthalmic surgery (e.g. conjunctiva suturing) and for circumcision of oral mucosa.

The thread with high tensile strength is coated with an absorbable substance. This reduces the capillary effect. 14 days after implantation appr. 75% of its original tensile strength remains. 21 days after implantation appr. 50% of its original tensile strength remains. Absorption is completed after 80-90 days.

For use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, for the adaptation of muscles and fasciae, for suturing of parenchymal organs, peripheral nerves, for ligatures of small vessels and for intradermal suturing.

Monofilament with excellent knotting properties and high tensile strength.6 weeks post implantation the thread remains ca. 50% of its original tensile strength. After 180-210 days it is completely absorbed.

For use in general soft tissue approximation. These sutures are particularly useful where the combination of an absorbable and extended wound support is desirable.

Physiological inert. Very smooth, best knotting properties. Easy to handle. No capillary effect.

Secure Support for fragile tissues

Pledgets protect the tissue from rupturing or friction caused by sutures. Santec offers pledgets made from PTFE which are usable in

a multifunctional way and have excellent tissue tolerability. To ensure the applicability for the most common tissue types and operation needs, the pledgets are available in three formats (oval, rectangular or circular).

Pledgets are available as PTFE felt (soft or hard) and ePTFE membrane.Several models feature ready-made sutures. In addition to the standard productline Santec also manufactures pledget formats according to client specifications.

Highest reliability for chordae replacement or reconstruction at the mitral valve

The Chordae Loop is a non-absorbable implant for chordae repair/replacement used for mitral valve reconstruction. The pre-assembled implant enables utmost safety based on a total control of the loop strength.

The 4-loop-pledget is directly sutured onto the papillary muscle using a second pledget as a support. The loops are attached to the valvular leaflets with head seams.

Strong connection for sternum closure

Topsteel is a high-quality monofilament stainless steel or titanium wire, fixed both with stainless steel needles. Their

bending strength and special sharpened shape ensure optimal tissue penetration and stability. Use of titanium or poly-ester suture is recommended in cases of chromium or nickel intolerance. Sternum wires with smaller diameter

are available for pediatric cardiac surgery. Topsteel sternum wires are packaged either in a straight, stretched form in long boxes or wound in standard boxes.Other options upon request.
