The classic SLA surface, short of «Sand-blast, Large grit, Acid-etch» is based on large aluminum oxide Al2O3 particles sandblasting technique that generates a macro-roughness on the titanium surface. Sandblasting is followed by acid-etching batch at high temperatures. As a result, subtle-sized 2-5 micron micropores appear at the implant surface. This unique macro/micro-topography provides an ideal structure for the cell attachment while reducing the possibility of a bacterial colonization. SLA surface treatment technique seemed to be one of the most studied and best documented in the modern dental implantology.Cell culture tests, histological studies of bone, all confirmed its strong long-term performance, high mechanical stability and a low ratio odds of developing peri-implantitis.This is making the SLA a perfect choice for the contact surfaces of the implants.

One-piece Monoblock Implant

• This state-of-art implant special feature is one-piece, Titanium alloy construction, which provides maximum strength, while keeping a slim shape and small diameter.

• Allows treatment of narrow spaces that cannot be otherwise handled with larger two-piece implants.

RBM Surface Treatment

RBM (Resorbable Blast Media) surface treatment is designed to roughen the implant surface without leaving the residual embedded blast particles or debris in the treated substrate.It resolves completely the issues which can occur with SLA, or other surface treatment and deliver impeccable results. The rough surface of the implant is crucial to achieving optimal osseointegration. It increases the success rate of Bone to Implant Contact (BIC), the healing process and tissue growth around the implant while eliminating the unwanted possibilities of post-surgery infections.

RBM plays the main role in roughened implant surfaces and provides increased retention strength. The topography, down to the micrometre, affects the attachment and the growth of new bone cells, more rapidly and more stable at the same time.The material used for the RBM process is Calcium Phosphate. This is a highly resorbable and biocompatible material. Usage of Calcium Phosphate as a blasting material eliminates the need for using strong acids for the removal of blasting material remnants.Such surface technology gives excellent results, reaching the optimal osseointegration and complete healing process with almost zero chance of abruption. Even the particles that are left are fully biocompatible, promote earlier bone in-growth and provide greater implant stability during the first critical weeks after placement.

Comparison of the dental implant surfaces



RBM vs SLA Comparison:The two major surfaces in clinical use are the SLA surface and the RBM surface. SLA surface is created by sandblasting with large grit particles, followed by acid etching to remove the remaining particles and further increase the roughness.There is no significant difference between SLA surface treatment and RBM surface. When processing the surface with aluminum oxide, it may stay on the surface, as seen during spectral analysis test. These residues can sometimes impede the osseointegration. Since aluminum and its compounds have a polytropic effect on the body, the severity of which is not directly dependent on its concentration, implantation should take into account the possibility of complications in the post-implantation period.

Resorbable Blast Media (RBM) surface treatment is based on high-speed particle blasting, using the resorbable bioceramics.

High acid concentration washes away the aluminum oxide particles during the SLA surface treatment. Acid etching helps to achieve micropores with a diameter of 5-10 microns. It considered an optimal size to promote a fast and stable bone attachment.Specific surface characteristics can be influenced by various factors, such as a concentration of acid, temperature, duration of immersion, and even the frequency of changing the bath with acid. In cases when the acid etching process is so aggressive that it could cause metallurgical decomposition, which could adversely affect fatigue strength - acid “lubricates” the roughness that forms during the sandblasting. This extreme acid etching procedure is also likely to cause acid residues to persist.The survival rate of DSI SLA implants found that after ten years period of follow up, these implants had a 98% survival rate. A major advantage of RBM technique is calcium phosphate particles that eliminate the risk of contaminating debris left after blasting. Also, RBM surface proven to have a higher bone to implant contact and smooth surface implant. As far as RBM surface survival rate is 98.7% after seven years of follow up period.

DSI implants are packaged in our Clean Room ( ISO 7 Class 10,000). The implants are supplied in a sealed vial (tube), which prevents any contamination on the implant’s surface. The New RBM Line packaging is very comfortable for the end user. The implant is pre-mounted and does not come in contact with other objects, while can be easily pulled from the vial using the handle. The handle with lid that seals the tube has integrated cover screw. It’s separated from implant for the user’s convenience and according to dentists’ standard procedures.

Spiral Premium Line Implant

DSI RBM Premium Line has a spiral thread design with twin cutting grooves and redirecting ability. The coronal micro-treads designed to increase bone-implant contact and provide long-term crestal area stability. Recommended for two-stage surgical procedures, but suitable for the single-stage placement as well.

• Surface roughness value of about Ra 2.5 to 3.0 µm.• Consistent surface micro pits between 1 to 3 µm.• Surface area is increased by 46 percent compared to SLA treated implants.

Transfers are designed for impressions using the open-tray technique when the retentions are sharp, and for the closed-tray technique when the retentions are round. The body of the transfer is made of stainless steel.Transfers are available with screws.A short screw for a closed tray and a long screw for an open tray. The screws are made of titanium alloy.Material: Stainless Steel.

A clip-on connection transfer for impressions without a screw has a hexagonal lock to ensure a tight fi t. It is especially effective with molars and premolars, where there is a lack of space, and where working with a driver is diffi cult. It is suffi cient to use this transfer for all types of impressions as the lack of screws saves signifi cant amount of time.Material: Stainless Steel.

Transfer for open tray for MUA is used for taking the impressions. The open tray implant level impression transfer offers impressions that demonstrate the position of a multi unit in relation to existing natural teeth and soft tissue contours.Material: Titanium (Ti6Al4V ELI).

Ridge splitting chisel bone expansion is a technique of bone manipulation. Form the receptor site for the implant without removing any bone from the implant site. Maxillary bone has an inherent quality of fl exibility. That is why it can be shaped as desired by using a series of chisels. This further improves the quality of crest and apex bone all around the implant.DSI Ridge Split Chisel Kit is used for crestal ridge augmentation to increase bone support for implant insertion. They enable the insertion of an implant at the time of augmentation avoiding the delay to permit consolidation of a graft. Wrench Adapter • Incise the alveolar bone that implant will be placed using saw disk. • Insert Spreading pins between the incised bone side by side. If this step is

not applicable, speed the site using spliting chisel and operate again.• Connect spreading adapter to inserted bin and turn clockwise (wrench

adapter is usable instead of speeding adapter).• Turn the bins one by one slowly and expand the ridge evenly.• After the expansion, remove Pins and place fi xtures on the site. (Exchange

each pin and fi xture separately, not rem ove all pins at the same time.)• Fill graft bone material around placed fi xtures. (If needed, collect more graft material using NLBC.)

When connected turn Spreading adapter clockwise to spread upper and under parts of the pin.

GBR System SD-Screw KitThe GBR System is comprised of bone screws and bone plates that are used for bone fi xation surgery. The bone screws and plates are non-reusable. The bone screws are composed of the Titanium alloy (ASTM F136) and the bone plates are composed of the pure Titanium (ASTM F67 Grade 1). The screws are offered in following range; diameter (1.4, 1.6 mm) and length (6.0, 8.0, 10.0 mm). Also, the tip of screw has single type: the self-drilling and self-tapping available type and the type that require the pre-drilling (Surgeon's option). The bone plate is offered in 0.1 mm thickness and in length 36 mm × 22 mm. Each device is provided non-sterile. Steam sterilization is Recommendeded.

DSI 3D Resin CASTDESIGNED FOR PRINTING MODELS, USED FOR DIRECT CASTING. Zero ash content and ready to use in shock cycles makes it possible to obtain high quality castings.DSI 3D DENTAL CAST RESIN is excellent for direct casting of dental implants like metal and ceramic crowns and bridges. Almost zero ash content (less than 0.1%) and thermoplastic properties makes the resin suitable for direct casting. The resin was designed to burn out in a quick cycle at high temperature to reduce electricity costs and the production time of metal and ceramic implants. To obtain the best quality surface from casting, we recommend the use of phosphate-based investments that can operate at high temperatures.
