KK Vipers News

Round Three This week saw the KK Vipers take on Souths for the first home game for the season in Kon-dinin. The warm weather was out again to help with the sock and shirt tans! C grade had another good win this week with a result of 3-0. Team work paid off and saw multiple goal scorers for the C grade with Hamish Dearlove, James Ellis and Daniel Lockyer all scoring 1 goal. Hamish Dearlove also won the coaches award for the week. B grade came away with a win with a score of 3-0, with Kristy Ellis scoring her first goal for the KK Vipers. Vipers dominated the game with their strong backline not allowing Souths to penetrate their attacking circle. The player’s player award was won by Brooke Biglin and Helen Crane won the coaches award. A grade unfortunately suffered their first loss for the season with a score of 2-1. Souths were very strong opponents and it was a hard fought out game with ball possession continu-ally changing. Minnie Lucchesi won the player’s player award and Sam Stubna won the coaches award. The men’s round 4 game saw Merredin travel to Kondinin and provide some great entertain-ment after the ladies games. Merredin are one of the strongest teams in the comp but the Vipers gave them a good run for their money. We managed to hold them all day however they snuck a sneaky goal through at the end of the first half, resulting in a loss for the Vipers 1-0. The warm weather was felt by all players but we had a good size bench and were able to rotate the team. Player of the day was Tim Day. The KK Vipers would like to thank Denaro Earthmoving for sponsoring the round three awards, the Kondinin Hotel for supplying ice for injuries and Kulin IGA for supplying half time treats. Also congratulations to Janet Repacholi for winning the Kondinin IGA raffle.

Round Four This week the KK Vipers went to Narembeen for some tough and enjoyable games of hock-ey and some super delicious dip at afternoon tea. C Grade had a tough and high scoring game this week against Narembeen. The game was very open and skilful however Narembeen won 6-4. Goal scorers for KK Vipers were Daniel Lockyer (2), James Ellis and Isobel Noble. Coaches’ award was won by Ava Bennier.

B Grade This week B grade had another convincing win with a 3-0 score. Rynelle Smoker stepped up and got the ball rolling with the first goal, followed by Jenna Beaton and Daniel Lockyer. Miranda Bradford and Maddie Earle-Sadlier debuted for the KK Vipers this week. The players’ player award was won by Brooke Biglin and coaches’ award went to Yvonne Bowey.

A Grade The A grade girls had a slow start this week and Narembeen were tough oppo-nents. KK Vipers went into half time down 2-0. However after half time and some lollies they made a comeback winning 3-2. The second half was exciting with a goal scored for KK Vi-pers by Tammy Wilkins from a penalty stroke, other goal scorers were Taryn Eva and Jennie McInnes. The players’ player award was won by Sam Stubna and coaches award was won by Fiona Murphy.

The KK Vipers would like to thank Trish Cameron from Outback Styles for sponsoring the

Round 4 awards and Kulin IGA for the half time treats.
