Problem:• Margret and Monica went to the
store to buy brownies. The brownies cost $10 each package, they bought 2 packages.

Equation:
X = Number of packagesY = The total cost
Y=10x or f(x)=10x

Independent and Dependent
• Independent- number of packages
• Dependent- the total cost
We know that Y depends on X. So the total cost depends on the number of
packages.
