Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain can host just about any kind of party. We regular welcome aboard families looking for a special outing, special events for workplace teams, and even private tour groups that are reselling individual tickets for a profit. We are happy to work with you to plan a fun event for all of your guests no matter the occasion! _____________________________________________________________________________________

RATES Dockside Parties An event aboard one stationary tall ship at the dock. This is the best option for events with food and drink. Can be added to a sailing charter. One hour minimum 1 Hour: $500.00 per hour 2 Hours +: $450.00 per hour

Sailing Parties An in-town sailing excursion aboard one tall ship. Our most popular option. We can host live music, drill your guests in line hauling, sing shanties together, and more! Two hour minimum 2 Hours: $900.00 per hour 3 Hours: $750.00 per hour

Battle Sail Parties An in-town sailing cannon battle between both tall ships. Best for thrill seeking groups and themed parties. Guests can reserve both tall ships for their guests, or a single tall ship (battling against the general public who purchase tickets aboard the opposing boat). Two hour minimum. 2 Hours: $1225.00 per hour 3 Hours: $900.00 per hour

PRIVATE PARTY CHARTERS FAQs

What are our options for food/drink? You are welcome to bring you own food and drink aboard for guests. The tall ships are not equipped to prepare food. We do not have preferred caterers for each port we visit. We will find areas on the vessel to set up food for guests to do a self-service buffet style.

Guests 21+ are able to bring and drink alcohol on the tall ships in individual containers (bottles, cans, juice boxes, etc.). State alcohol licenses are required for punch bowls of alcohol, kegs, open wine glasses and bottles, and drink service with bar tenders. Alcohol licenses can be expensive and take several months to receive, so GHHS advises against this option.

Can you pick us up in one port and drop us off at a different port? No. The tall ships cannot act as ferries, as it takes several hours to get from port to port and dock reservations for vessels of our size require advance notice of 6 months or more.

Are there restrooms aboard? The tall ships do have toilets, but they are marine toilets that are not like those you use at home. Stalls are very small, toilet paper cannot be flushed, and there are some instructions to go over before use. It is strongly advised that guests use restrooms on shore before coming aboard.

What are the Audio/Visual Options? We have amplifiers and microphones available for additional charge to set up live music, speeches, or even karaoke! There is not a projector or an ability to have visual displays.

Are your vessels wheelchair accessible? No. Unfortunately we need to board all guests using stairs or a ramp. Wheelchair bound guest are not able to make it onto the boat while seated, however if guests can come out of their wheelchair temporarily, we can help them aboard and then set up their wheelchair with brakes on or a chair on the main deck.

CHARTER ADD ONS Cannon fires - $20.00 first shot, $10.00 each additional shot. First 3 cannon shots included in Sailing Charter! First 20 charges included in Battle Charter. Great for salutes or firing at the shore. Explanation of the gunnery tools available by request.

Costuming - $200.00 Crew will wear historical attire reminiscent of early American mariners.

Equipment Rental - $50.00 for AV gear (dockside only); $50.00 for amplifier and microphone.

Use of Small Boats - $200.00 Can provide transport to and from land to the tall ship(s). Location dependent, please consult staff for details.

PROHIBITED ITEMS The following items are prohibited during charters. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list and all elements of a charter are subject to Grays Harbor Historical Seaport approval and the discretion of our Captains.

• Smoking or vaping

• Underage drinking

• Drug use

• Firearms

• Littering

• Fishing or swimming from the decks of the tall ships

• Travel to unauthorized destinations

• Conduct which may cause harm to guest or vessel safety

IMPORTANT NOTES Lady Washington has a sailing capacity of 45 passengers, including babies. Hawaiian Chieftain has a sailing capacity of 43 passengers, including babies. Capacity is a legal requirement and no exceptions will be made.

Our port schedule may not be fully determined beyond 3-4 months in advance. It is strongly advised that those pursuing a charter have flexibility to plan their event with less than 6 months’ notice.
