Prism Cement Limited is committed to the best environmental practices andincorporating these into its business strategy and operations and to fosteringenvironmental awareness and responsibility among our stakeholders, includingemployees, clients and suppliers. The Company is conscious of its responsibility towardscreating, maintaining and ensuring a safe and clean environment for sustainabledevelopment.

In furtherance of its objectives, the Company is committed to :

1) Operate the mines, manufacturing and other facilities in compliance with allapplicable laws and regulations related to environment and health & safety ofemployees and surrounding communities.

2) Prepare and maintain plant/site specific legal records listing all the applicableregulations and the compliance requirements.

3) Continually improve the environmental performance of organisational processesand products through waste minimization and pollution abatement.

4) Minimise consumption of natural resources through the reduction, reuse orrecycling of materials, as much as possible.

5) Encourage efficient use of energy, water and utilities.

6) Purchase products and services, as far as possible, that do the least damage to theenvironment on a life cycle basis.

7) Promote environmental awareness among the employees and encourage them towork in an environmentally responsible manner.

9) Develop and maintain appropriate emergency and response programs whererequired by legislation or where significant health, safety or environmental hazardsexist.

i. An overview Picture of the complete Cement plant covering its greenery andsurroundings.

Prism Cement Limited is committed towards implementation of various internationalmanagement systems i.e. NABL(National Accreditation Board for Testing and CalibrationLaboratories), ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 14001:2015Environmental Management System (EMS), OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & SafetyAssessment series, SA 8000:202014 Social Accountability, NABET (National AccreditationBoard for Education and Training), ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management System (EnMS), ISO27001:2013 Information Security Management System (ISMS) and ISO 22000:2005 Food SafetyManagement System (FSMS) under the systems we are bound to comply by all the legal andother requirements, including requirements of international system management.

The Company has a firm and robust Corporate Environment Policy(Annexure no.1) and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (Annexure no.2)

ii. Waste Management in Offices:Waste management in the offices - Dustbins provided for all office & relevant places for besthousekeeping & collection of office waste. The main waste generation is paper as office wasteand same is shredded and sent for recycling. The disposal is done as per DOC. No. PCL-OCP-50 (Annexure no. 3)

iii. Segregation of waste Collection:Different type of Waste bins are used for hazardous & non- hazardous waste and the same arestored at designated places. Authorized Party is hired for collection and disposal of thesewastes. The disposal is done for Non-hazardous waste as per DOC.NO.PCL-OCP-50 (Annexureno. 3) and DOC.NO.PCL-OCP-24 & 48 for hazardous waste. (Annexure no. 4 & 5 respectively)

iv. Solid Waste Management:Solid waste management (including e-waste) - Such type waste are collected in different type ofWaste bins and stored at designated places. We have a standing agreement with authorizedwaste management companies who are our vendors for collection & disposal of such waste.

We have an e-waste management system which is done as per DOC.NO.PCL-OCP-02;thedisposal of Bio-medical waste is done as per DOC.NO.PCL-OCP-24 (Annexure no.5)

v. Hazardous Waste Management.Such type of waste is stored at designated place until the time authorized vendor carries it forwaste disposal. We are in agreement with such Authorised vendors for hazardous wastemanagement. The hazardous waste management is done as per DOC.NO.PCL-OCP-02(Annexure no 6).

vi. Recycling & Reuse of Waste:Not Applicable

vii. Industry participation in construction of Public/Community Toilets with ratio (*)(1st April 31st May, 2017)

Yes, we are making toilets at schools of villages in vicinity to our Plant/Mines. Public toilets forGeneral public, drivers, cleaners and other stake holders are being constructed at places wherewe anticipate lot of transit. The company has a dedicated road map for community engagementin constructing toilets for various purposes. Some of the initiatives viz. constructing 138 toiletsat village Baghai in FY 2017-18, is being given in Annexure no. 7.The Public/community toiletratio will be 1:1 after completion of the project. In reporting period service requisition has beenraised and work is to commence shortly.

viii. behavioural change regarding healthy sanitation practices. (*)We have a plan to post 250 slogans on different issues in FY 2017-18. In the reporting period wehave posted 25 slogans at different locations with maximum visibility to villagers. The activitiescarried out and planned are given in Annexure no.7.

x. in eradication of manual scavenging & elimination of opendefecation. (*)

The area around our industry and mines is free from practices of manual scavenging. We areconsistently making toilets in and around our plant/mines to provide better facilities to thevillagers and other stake holders. The practise of defecation is being defeated by counsellingand slogan posting near the places of human habitation.

xi. Planting trees in office complex Green Belt Development in cement plants:

In the reporting period no plantation has been carried out. All plantations are proposed inMonsoon-Post Monsoon period. Yes, we are planting trees in our office complexes and all otherareas with in Factory Premises. Plantation is also being carried out near villages; road side andothers open places. Intensive plantation has been carried out in the mine areas.

xii. Activities taken under the C.S.R. fold with Videos/Photos. (*)

xiii. Any other activity/information.

1. Construction of three numbers of rooftop rainwater harvesting structures, are inprogress. Total estimated cost of these structures is approximately 5.8 Lacs

2. Awareness program at Gram Panchayat Bathiya, Mahurachh-Kandaila, Mankahari,Narsinghpur, Hinauti, Sijahata and Baghai was conducted through audio/publicaddress system messagingsun stroke, Diarrhoea, Jaundice etc.

3. Classes creating computer awareness giving 72 hours working on machine to eachstudent is being conducted from 08.05.2017 to conclude on 07.07.2017. Total. 30 studentsare participating from different CSR target villages.

5. CONSTRUCTION OF GROUNDWATER RECHARGE STRUCTURETwo numbers of groundwater recharge structure are being constructed inside colonyarea, which is connected with the storm drain. The dimensions of these structures are6X3X3 Meters with two numbers of boreholes and other structure of size 3X3X3 meterswith one borehole. This recharge pit will be filled with conventional filter media (Stoneboulders, Course Sand & Fine Sand). The flooded storm water of monsoon will beaccumulated in this structure and filtered rainwater will percolate to groundwater withthe perforated casing of borehole

6. INSTALLATION OF DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEMTo reduce the fresh water consumption and optimum utilization of water in irrigation,the company has installed Drip Irrigation System of around 4.0 Kms length. Installationof remaining one kilometre length is in progress

7. Indo Asian SolarChallenge All participating vehicles were solar powered. Therewere 310 students from different institutes across the country who participated in therally.
