• 31 Inspections in WELB during 2013/14.
• 94% Good or Better.• 68% Very Good or
Outstanding.
Celebrating AchievementPrimary Outcomes• End of Key Stage
outcomes are above NI average in WELB.
Post-Primary Outcomes• 5+A*-C GCSEs including
English and Maths WELB schools have exceeded PfG target.
• Rising trend in outcomes for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

relevant action plans;• Targets for 2014/2015;• Pro-forma detailing the planned use of
SDDs/Baker Days, in support of above.
School Governance
Reconstitution of Governors
• Reconstitution of all School Boards of Governors has been ongoing during the 2013/2014 year and continues;
• About 90 % complete in WELB controlled schools;
• New School Boards of Governors to govern 2014 – 2018 (to be confirmed).
Changes to Governance since 2009
- An increased level of
accountability;- The development of self-evaluation in the
context of governance;- The inspection of governance.

ELB Responsibilities
• Reconstitution of Boards of Governors – controlled schools;
• Appointment of Principals and VPs in all controlled schools;
• Providing advice/ guidance to governors in controlled schools;
• Training programme for all governors.
