Friday, 02/13/2015 Watching young people put their all into a project or event, evokes a level of awe to any observing adult, most of whom cannot see themselves accomplishing the same feat. Children have the ability to take on serious challenges when they are young and this event proves it. Over forty students took to the stage to give, from memory, their oratorical presentations. Some talked about the lives of the Bible character they researched, while others portrayed themselves as the character, sharing the life experience from the character's point of view. It was truly inspirational to to hear well thought out ideas that, on several occasions, made us adults reflect on the purpose, challenge, and meaning of our own lives. These VAA students make us proud as they stand and face seemingly unnerving challenges like public speaking from memory. You go kids! Watching young people put their all into a project or event, evokes a level of awe to any observing adult, most of whom cannot see themselves accomplishing the same feat.

Friday, 02/13/2015preaching. Participants ranged in age from Kindergartener to adult and shared with the congregation, a rich and spiritual worship service. Education is usually only categorized with academic achievement, but our student speakers voiced the importance of values, character, and faith in God's word. Peter, a sixth grader,

shared the importance of being a hero and taking a stand for what is right even when you have to stand alone. Calla, a fifth grader, shared what it was like to be the sister of Samuel, an anointed prophet of God, and Haronid, a seventh grader, presented herself as Debra, the first woman general used by God in the Bible. As our children build their values on Biblical principles, they are inevitably preparing for service in God's work when they become adults. If it is to hold fast, the training must start when they are young and will remain with them not just for a lifetime, but for eternity in God's kingdom. Vienna serves as that training ground by introducing children to the love of their Savior and building biblical truths upon biblical truths, which they can depend on in all situations.

Paper Airplane Contest Winners

Well made paper airplanes come in different designs, shapes and sizes, but this event was for the airplane maker whose engineered masterpiece could fly the furthest.

Three master artists rose to the level to be written down in the VAA history books of annual air plane contests. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place went to Calla Morgan-5th Grade, Giselle Landgrover-3rd Grade, and Jonathan Perez-8th Grade. Congratulations future Boeing employees.
