Principal Report
Term 3 Week 1 2020
THIS WEEK’S UPDATE Welcome back to term 3. It was lovely to see all of our students return to as we normally would, without any interruptions from Covid-19. Students have settled in well to the school routines and have been working well in class. We appreciate your support in not coming onto school grounds. As much as we miss having parents here to interact with, the safety of staff and students has to be our priority. If you need to speak to someone on school grounds please call the school and we can arrange for you to speak with a teacher. We will be conducting as many meetings as possible via the telephone rather than in person, we hope that you understand.
BEHIND THE ROOS
This is a new school initiative that began late last term. Mr Wells held auditions for interested year 6 students, who wanted to be involved in putting together news stories happening at school. The jobs included reporters, camera crew, producers and editors. We are excited to start sharing these episodes with you on the school’s facebook page. It is such a wonderful opportunity for students to be involved in such a creative enterprise. So far each episode just keeps getting better and better. This term we will be continuing with producing an episode every fortnight, so keep an eye out for it on our facebook page.
SCHOOL PHOTOS
Next Tuesday we will be having our school photos taken. Students will need to return their envelope with the money/credit card details on Tuesday. If you haven’t yet received a photo envelope please ask your child to let their teacher know so they can send one home on Monday afternoon.
DJIRIBA WAAGURA
This is a new program happening at the school this term for students in years 3,4,5 and 6. Students will participate once a week in Aboriginal Cultural groups that will enhance their knowledge and understandings of local Aboriginal culture. This week students had their first session and were completely enthralled with what they were learning. In term 4 Kindergarten, year 1 and year2 will be participating in a dance program that they will run.
