2014: MOVE FORWARD (Be Motivated; Seize Opportunities; Value self and others; Be Enthusiastic)

St Joseph’s Students Enjoy Success in Many Areas!!! VET Courses Awards Every year students, employers and trainers are nominated for the Annual VET Awards Evening. This year, 3 students were nominated and received the following accolades: Dante Olivieri –Certificate of Merit in Construction Pathways Rebekah Walsh – Judges Award for Excellence in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) AND Jaime Clark- Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) VET Student of the Year and overall 2014 VET Student of the Year!!

An outstanding achievement considering these 3 students were competing against VET students from not

only systemic schools, but also DEC and TAFE students from across the Illawarra. Jaime’s title of overall VET Student of the Year is truly outstanding and is captured on a trophy which will be on display in the front office. Such achievements would not be possible without the dedication and hard work from Mrs Louise Markwell. The Year 12 Hospitality classes completed the equivalent of two qualifications in 12 months due to a change of training package mid course. Mrs Markwell spent copious additional hours preparing her students and ensuring they met all of the many extra requirements of a dual accredited course. Congratulations!

There was to be no assistance from their mentors, Mrs Boughton and Mr Casolin! St Joseph’s won 1st place in the secondary space for 2 of the categories!!! The winning teams were: In the Microbot Category: In the Insectbot Category:
