I’m sure a good number of you saw the Band’s 8-member- strong snare drum line at Reunions this past June, but I can assure you that those same numbers were present at basketball, hockey, and volleyball gigs throughout the spring season, and that the same level of enthusiasm is present in every section of the Band. Last year we set some unbelievable new records for donor participation, and I’m proud to report that those levels were not entirely a one-year anomaly. Total donor participation is still up over 7% from 2010, while donations to the Operating Fund have held steady at last year’s new, high mark. To top it off, donations to the Endowment have increased an additional 3%. Total donations for this past fiscal year are now reaching just short of $50,000! Dear Friends of Tiger Band,When I wrote to you for the first time last September, I was pleased to be

able to talk about all the ways in which the Band has been doing better than ever. This year, I’m thrilled to do so again. The Band’s membership, already doubled in size from five years ago to its highest levels in nearly 30 years, continues to grow. Last fall, we sent two full buses of plaid-clad undergrads to Hampton, Virginia for the first football road trip of the year, and capped of the season with another jam-packed, two-bus trip to Dartmouth on November 19th. This year, the Band is budgeting for two buses on every trip - a feat which is only possible thanks to each and every one the Band’s friend’s, alumni, and other supporters.

Transportation is not the only sphere in which the Band has o’erflowed its banks. Last year we acquired a new fiberglass sousaphone and two new snare drums. I’m sure a good number of you saw the Band’s 8-member-strong snare drum line at Reunions this past June, but I can assure you that those same numbers

were present at basketball, hockey, and volleyball gigs throughout the spring season, and that the same level of enthusiasm is present in every section of the Band. Looking forward, we expect the Band will need to add a new instrument or two each fall, to help its inventory keep up with its membership.

The support you have given the Band this past year has been nothing short of incredible. The Band has a proud tradition of accepting any and all members who want to contribute to it, and as the Band’s needs have increased dramatically with its increasing numbers, you have kept pace.

I would like to personally thank you all again for your invaluable assistance - the Band would not be what it is today without your tireless support. This certainly couldn’t be more true over the next few years, as we prepare to send the Band to San Diego in football season 2014, and as we get ready to celebrate the Band’s 100th anniversary in 2019.

Again, thank you all so very much.

Sincerely,

Friends of Tiger [email protected]/~fotb
