About Us

Prince Educational Society was established in 1978 by our Founder Chairman Dr. K. Vasudevan, M.A., B.Ed., Ph.D. The campus of Prince Shri Venkateshwara Padmavathy Engineering College is spread over 70 acres of scenic beauty, in between Medavakkam-Mambakkam main road. Located at about 10Km from Vandalur, the college buildings are laid out amidst a serene environment. The Circular Block has a built up area of 2,10, 000 sq feet, and houses departments of UG Courses: MECH, CSE, CIVIL, ECE, EEE, IT, PG Courses : M.E Applied Electronics, M.E CAD, MBA and MCA.

The college consists of a well equipped laboratories with the state of the art computers equipment and gadgets, spacious canteen and separate rest rooms for boys and girls. The campus also houses well-ventilated hostels for boys and girls.

PROGRAMMES OVERVIEW

All the programs are affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

The programs follow the curriculum of Anna University, which upgrades the curriculum on a regular basis. All the programs are conducted on semester basis. The B.E. / B.Tech. programs are of 8 semesters (4 year) duration. The M.E. & MBA programs are of 4 semesters (2 years) duration. The MCA program is of 6 semesters (3 year) duration. The evaluation is as per the norms of Anna University and consists of both internal evaluation and regular examinations.

Affordability shall not be an obstacle for any student who wishes to pursue his / her education in Prince Shri Venkateshwara Padmavathy Engineering College. Our College offers scholarships and fee waiver to deserving students on the basis of academic merit and economically downtrodden pupils. Students can continue to avail this financial assistance throughout the course based on their performance.

Prince Shri Venkateshwara Padmavathy Engineering College offers various scholarships for the meritorious students. Every semester in all disciplines, the College offers cash award worth 1 lakh for the best ranked department.Top students from each section are awarded with cash based on their Academic performance. Facilities :

Library

The library is housed in a spacious area of 500 sq.m., fully computerized with Reference Section, Periodical Section and Stack Section. It includes 21877 books and 3500 reference volumes of Technical, Science and Humanities and General Books. Separate library is also available for each discipline.

Canteen

The college has a spacious canteen with vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods.

Transport

To ensure safe travel the college has its own fleet of college buses all over Chennai designed as per standards and manned by trained drivers and personnel sensitized to the needs of students.

Hostel

Well furnished and spacious separate hostels for boys and girls are available and are being supervised by male and female deputy warden. Each spacious room is furnished with necessary contemporary furniture in a way to create studying atmosphere. To entertain the inmates of hostel, controlled time for playing indoor games and watching television is prearranged.

Extra Curricular Activities :

A Blood Donation Camp was organized by the NSS

Unit of Prince Shri Venkateshwara Padmavathy

Engineering College, Chennai through the Lions

Club of Madras on 27th July, 2013 as a part of the

NSS Camp . Blood Donation Camp is carried out

twice every year and is one of the most important

social activities carried out by the NSS unit of

PSVPEC. This time 250 units of blood were donated

by the donation camp. NSS is active in the college

throughout the year.

Design of green car

The students have designed their own car (zero pollution vehicle) and have applied for patent adding some additional features. Replacing the fuel engine with pneumatic engine will reduce pollution and fuel usage.

Design of eco friendly hybrid bike

The features of this hybrid bike are fuel and cost efficiency.

Design of Aero Bike

The bike aims at maximizing fuel efficiency by reducing the losses during idling. One of the core objectives of this project is to attain an overall weight reduction through wise choice of materials right from the component level to the system level and thereby achieve a mileage of 150-200 kilometres per litre of fuel.

Bike for Handicapped

The vehicle allows the physically challenged to drive the bike with legs alone. The steering unit can be transferred from hand to leg.

Design of air cooler

As most of us consider Air cooler as failure model, the students have redesigned the air cooler model such that it compete with AC. Compared with AC, it cools the room fast, uses less electric units, low cost and eco friendly.

Training & Placement A well-organized Training and Placement Cell is functioning in the campus

headed by a full-time Training team comprising of faculty co-ordinators from each department. Prince Engineering College enjoys the status of accreditation by the TATA Consultancy Services (TCS). This accreditation status also helps the college to attract other leading software companies for recruitment. Every year the number of students recruited by TCS from our college is increasing by leaps and bounds.The Training and Placement Cell is doing excellent service to the aspiring students by providing them an opportunity to get recruited in prestigious corporates through campus placement program.

Our placement cell functions in a separate block with air condition facilities and other audio / video equipments for written tests, group discussions and interviews.
