This massive undertaking of the former investment banking building headquarters amounted to 240,000 square feet of adaptive re‐use and a new parking structure. Our initial assignment from Schulte Hospitality was to develop a new street level presence that would engage with the increased tourist traffic form the fourth street pedestrian mall improvements. It was clear that the street layout and the volume of auto traffic needed to be adjusted by recreating the curb front parking to tie into the entrance so the building

Hilton and Homewood Suites – Louisville KYSchulte Hospitality engaged Prince Alexander when it was faced with the structural and architectural challenge of converting a former paint factory near the new Louisville Slugger Stadium into a grand hotel. In initially analyzing the concrete structural frame of the building and addressing the objectives of creating a street‐level interface with pedestrians, we determined that the structure could hold additional floors of non‐combustible light gage framing. The existing building was a brick box – classic 1920’s factory building and the owner wanted to create a new image by adding the upper floors and recognizable entrance features.
